Shoddy, inferior and incomplete work.
I am sharing my experience with you regarding Unique Home Improvements and Coatings. I contracted the company in April 2025 for renovations and painting to my property after paying a substantial amount of almost R 160000. ( One hundred and sixty thousand Rand ). Unfortunately the work was left incomplete and in many areas is of a very poor standard. The owner Mr Rudi Theron is extremely rude, bombastic and completes all your complaints to him with the answer " Ag dis niks nie ". After paying him a 50% deposit, and then a further 25 % on completion of the roofs of both the house and cottage, with the rain both the house and the cottage have developed major leaks. I have perimeter walls that have not been water proofed and as a result water seepage into the kitchen has now started warping the newly installed kitchen units. Household items were broken by employees and secretly discarded. Dining room chair was broken as was a mirror which the employees once again kept quiet about. Jewellery ,a complete set of spanners and various other items disappeared. When confronted I was told to claim from my Insurance as their insurance will not pay as I could not prove that they had taken the items. I do not have a house help, and wonder therefore who else could have taken these items. Loss of over R100000. The matter has now been referred to the CGSO ( Consumer Goods and Service Ombud ), then onto the NCC ( National Consumer Commissioner and then onto the National Tribunal for adjudication. I would strongly advise anyone considering using this company to proceed with caution.

VERY VERY BAD AFTER SALES SERVICES
I am very disappointment in the treatments this company gave us. Over Promise and under Deliver from the sales rep Kyle Badenhorst, he come out to our house we explained to him what is wrong he climbed on our roof and said he know exactly what to do here and wat to do to stop the leaks on our our . After almost waiting a month after I paid the full balance they came to fix my roof. After the technician was there my roof still leaked they came back for a second time they said the fixed the problem but my roof still leaks. I have send numerous messages to there Kyle and he does not respond I send him a message again asking who is going to respond to my messages he then said as soon as he is at the office he will phone me guess what he did not phone me back . Kyle is very unprofessional in what he is doing he after sales is pathetic. I would definitely not recommend them coming out to any house or business for any type of repairs . I only wish I did read there very very bad reviews before using them . PLEEEEEEEAAAAAASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND SALES REP DONT GET CAUGHT IS THERE FLASE PROMISES .

Appauling service from Unique Coatings
If I could give zero stars, I would. We thought we did our due diligence to get a reputable and honest service provider; however, as soon as we paid the 50% deposit of R16770, we were met with appalling customer service. Rudie was so condescending and rude. Our agreement has been breached & we are pursuing legal action to get our deposit back and also get a contractor who is actually credible to do the job. We wanted a seamless and professional service to get our roof waterproofed and sorted before the summer rains start. We have been met with a messy and shockingly poor customer service, plus a failure to deliver what has been agreed. As if that is not enough, the rudeness and ************** kicked in. I would implore you to save yourself the nightmare & get a reliable and professional service provider. This has been such a **** & they refuse to pay back our deposit. Unfortunately, I saw the reviews afterwards, and I see other customers have experienced the same challenges with them. It's such a ****, you meet a different person in the beginning, and they are reassuring & you think you are aligned. Then, as soon as you pay your deposit, they make unilateral changes, and you suddenly speak to another person you never knew was part of the equation, and they are incredibly rude. Literally, after we paid the deposit, it's been downhill from there. We will let the courts rule on this, but I would never recommend them under any circumstances.
