Rubbish Service and Empty Promises
Please don’t waste your time or money with this company all they will do is rip you off, I purchased a roller shutter door for my dads workshop in January paid them in full by February and I’m still waiting for the cover piece for the roller shutter… all Wikus (the owner) will promise you is that his coming by the end of the week…. And guess what that week never comes….. please do yourself a favor and find another reputable company to purchase your roller shutter doors from…. Stay away from UDM roller shutter doors aka universal doors and maintenance

Terrible service, terrible advice.
Terrible service, terrible advice. Spend 4K with them to recondition my garage door motor, only to have my motor stop working altogether 4 months later. Tried to get them to fix my motor again (possibly 17 calls later) as the original fix was still under guarantee (6 months). Then on them arriving on site again, I was advised I needed to change my springs for another 3K. This didn't sound right. I got another opinion from an independent installer (how I wished I contacted him from the start). He looked at the door and undoubtedly confirmed there was nothing wrong with my springs and basically, my motor's batteries were flat. He ordered new batteries and my door is operating as if new. I've requested a refund on some of my original money spent with Universal. I was told they would discuss this internally and get back to me. Its been a month and am still waiting. I will never use or recommend them EVER again.

UNIVERSAL DOORS AND MAINTENANCE AND VICKUS PITOUT ARE SCAMMERS. DO NOT TRUST!!!
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY AS THEY START SOMETHING BUT DON'T FINISH. MARCH 2019 THEY CAME TO ROYAL PANELBEATERS AND REPAIRED OUR INDUSTRIAL ROLLER SHUTTER DOOR WITH NEW SLATS AND NEW CHAIN WHICH WE PAID R15,000-00. JUNE 2019 THEY INSTALLED A NEW ARC 1000 MOTOR AND CHARGED US R12358-00. SINCE 31 JULY 2019 THIS MOTOR HAS NOT BEEN WORKING AND THE GATE DOES NOT CLOSE DUE TO THE POOR INSTALLATION DONE BY UNIVERSAL DOORS. ENDLESS PHONECALLS AND PROMISES TO COME AND SORT OUT THE PROBLEM AND EVENTUALLY THEY COME ON 7 AUGUST 2019. THEY REMOVE "OUR" NEW MOTOR AND TELL US THE SHAFT IS BROKEN. THEY TOOK OUR GATE MOTOR. THE NEXT DAY 8 AUGUST 2019 WE RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH A QUOTE OF R9800-00 TO SUPPLY AND FIT NEW DOOR SHAFT AND THIS TIME DEMANDING A 70% DEPOSIT ON COMMENCEMENT OF WORK AFTER 7-10 DAYS AFTER DEPOSIT. WE HAVE NEVER PAID THEM A DEPOSIT AND NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN ITS ON THEIR INVOICE. VICKUS THOMAS PITOUT IS A SCAM ARTIST AND A FRAUDSTER. FALSE ADVERTISING ON HIS BAKKIE AS HE DOES NOT OPERATE FROM SELBY NOR IS HIS COMPANY REGISTERED AT A BUSINESS ADDRESS BUT AT A DILAPIDATED HOUSE TAKEN OVER BY FOREIGNERS IN SOUTH HILLS. HE LIVES IN BRACKENHURST WHERE HE DOES HIS BUSINESS FROM WITH CLIENTS MOTORS AND MATERIALS THAT HIS STAFF STEAL.
