Payed 50% of my daughter's outstanding university fees on the 03 February as well as the R 11 000 re-registration fees for 2026, sent through proof of payment on the 03rd. To date (09 February a payment cannot be allocated to a students account), the day lectures start. Where is the Rector of the University of Pretoria? To the wonderful accounts clerks / managers, that I have called and e-mailed more than 20 times this week, to which they have blatantly ignored (Senzo Khumalo, Lesibe Madire, Rose Malinga, Komane Lehong, Refilwe Mogale), all of you thank you so much for using our university fees to pay your salaries and "ALL OF YOU IGNORING CALLS AND E-MAILS". SAYS ALOT ABOUT YOUR UNIVERSITY CULTURE AND MORALS AND VALUES. I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SPEAK TO ONE OF YOU . It's SHOCKING in todays day and age when an EFT is done it takes max 2 days to reflect, but instead my daughter had to miss first day of lectures thanks to your competent staff. This is the WORST SERVICE EVER FOR A SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITY.

I have been attempting to enroll in a PMP short course at the university, but the process has been incredibly frustrating. It feels as though I am being given the runaround, similar to enrolling for an undergraduate program. The university's enterprise has been providing me with the requirements one by one, without offering any real assistance. I was supposed to start attending classes on the 5th, but to date, I have not attended a single class. My WhatsApp messages and emails are being ignored, and I am given excuses every time I follow up. I am extremely disappointed with this experience. I had hoped to be a student at this university, and I can only imagine the challenges that current students must be facing.

Dr Catherine Le Roux, who currently teaches Strategic Management at the University of Pretoria, is an absolute standout in the academic world. Her passion for teaching is matched only by her dedication to her students. She consistently goes the extra mile to make learning both fun and rewarding, transforming what could be a daunting subject into an engaging and enriching experience. What truly sets Dr Le Roux apart is her responsiveness and attention to detail—emails are answered quickly, thoughtfully, and with a depth that shows genuine care for student success. Her ability to bring theory to life with practical examples and interactive discussions makes each lecture a highlight of the week. It’s rare to find an educator who combines academic excellence with such a supportive and approachable manner. Dr Le Roux is a true asset to the University of Pretoria and to everyone fortunate enough to be in her class. Highly recommended!

UP may say they care about students mental health and well being and want all students to succeed, but this is very far from the case. You are not treated like an adult you are essentially a middle school student all over again where everything you do is monitored and despite getting good grades you will still be excluded because you did not do things the way UP wants it done. There is no empathy or understanding especially in the humanities department and students are treated like dollar signs or children instead of respectable adults.

They don’t answer calls at all. The faculty where they do assessments. Even emails, if you go there in person they will tell you that they are going to do it. Have been there several times nothing is happening.

I am a student at the university of Pretoria in the EMS Faculty , the communication in this faculty is very poor , and overall the university are not helpful to their students. I was registered to do summer school to improve my marks , i live 300 km away , drove all the way from my house just to come here and do summer school for 3 days , when they then decided that i am not allowed to continue to do the summer school , they deregistered my summer school and told me to go back home , had to drive 300 km back home. if their comunication was better they would not have cost me a lot of money for nothing. after i asked the head of the EMS faculty did not want to help me , i tried to contact the dean , but they simply don't reply to their e mails. my children would never come and study at UP !!!
