We have recently requested Urchin design update the contact details for various companies, one being Retrosol which we have hosted with Urchin since 2015. He has refused citing personality issues, he simply does not wish to work wit me because I'm demanding. I have requested 5 other companies make the changes, but he has installed complex firewalls & they can not assist. let week I requested he release the coding blocks and he simply laughed & put down the phone,

We've been with Urchin Design since our inception in 2008. Andrew, and the Urchin Design team, have helped us grow from strength to strength. We've gone from being a small business in 2008 to a medium sized business employing nearly 200 people in 2023. Andrew and his team have been nothing but professional and ensured the best possible service each step of the way. We look forward to many more years of partnership from the team. Andrew and his team have helped us with branding, websites, web based software and digital marketing. Each process has been handled with professionalism and a wealth of knowledge.

I have been using Urchin Design for some of the companies I run and they have been nothing but highly professional and helpful in all they do. I want to commend them for their incredible design but most importantly their unique understanding of SEO. They are ahead of their time

<div>We were Urchins Designs first large client in 2013. Urchin design suggested HTML build using templates as this approach was economical, fast and simple for Urchins Abilities. Over 50 Websites were commissioned & over 6 years R350,000 paid to develop our digital real estate. As life dictates, numbers change, updates are required and it was agreed an hourly rate be observed which we were happy with. Urchin Design is now involved in more complex projects and has terminated our service agreement due to "time constraints" , thus we have taken our websites to other designers, who can not decipher the coding used to ensure no-one can work on the sites. We face the complex task of rebuilding over 8 sites with 100 users at a cost of R500,000. Our regret is not using a vertically integrated web design company as opposed to a home based designer who literally controls our ability to trade, sell & market our services online. This post has been postponed for 6 months in the hope we could reach a non conflict event. unfortunately we are dealing with a "personality" not a company with a value system driven by best business practice.</div>

Website can not be updated by any other company due to firewalls in code. In 2015 our company paid Andrew Watts Urchin Design R50,000 to develop an interactive software package for our franchises. we have since updated the software every year as per Xneelo PHP request, which Andrew did not make us aware of the annual updates, we don't mind the cost, but the challenge is only Andrew understands the code. As Urchin design became busier, he became less available taking 2-3 emails to respond to our requests. We decided to take the software to another developer but he has built in certain firewalls that the developers can not work through. To date we have invested over R250,000 with Urchi Design and his attitude to SACHI is "tough" work it out, due to strongly worded emails to improve his service levels which he took offence too. If you are investing in a long term project which requires updates, Urchin Design will throw you under the buss, the minute he knows he owns your digital real estate. be careful, he is an emotional but capable programmer, but I have no recourse to escalate his poor service too. He is the business, and now I must rebuild the software which is used by 48 inspectors.
