Huge Travel Insurance ***** happening with Standard Bank automatically taking R1100 every time you book a flight, without a mandate. This happened to me three times. And after canceling my card, the ***** department investigated and said it had been taken off by the airline. After hours and hours of investigation I found that it has in fact been take off by Standard Bank automatically through their third party Brytes Insurance. It has taken me nearly a month and half to get a resolution and hours and hours of my time. Everyone at Standard Bank MUST check their statement after booking a flight as I am sure many many people are affected by this when they probably think this is something added by the airline when it is actually taken directly off your account without your consent by Standard Bank themselves. I would like answers to the following: 1. With all the new consumer acts how can they allow access to our accounts by third-part insurance companies? 2. Why did their ***** department dismiss this and lie to me that it was taken off by the airline, which it clearly was not and taken off directly by Standard Bank themselves. 3. Why are there no checks and balances in Standard Bank so that every transaction of this nature has to have a security check/code? It is unbelievable that they can still allow things like this to happen without people's consent. This is huge and must face a full investigation.

I have been a member of Momentum for many years. I had to go into hospital with Covid complications. My test results came through whilst I was in the hospital. Momentum states quite clearly they will cover the costs of Covid-related treatment. Today I was told by the hospital that they have refused to cover the costs. I have sent them many emails relating to this but all I get is an automated reply. I am shocked after so many years and having such an emergency to be treated in this way. It seems private health care with Momemtum is a scam. Also I have to add that the hospital didn’t want me to stay overnight and sent me home in immense pain. I had to ride this pain myself over the next days. Clearly they are working with the hospitals to avoid an overnight. I am really unhappy with my treatment by their designated hospital and now Momentum refusing to pay for my Covid Treatment
National Security in Durban is a disaster. They just don't have enough vehicles and their systems of operation are poor in an emergency. We had an intruder a couple of months ago and our lives we were in a serious danger. It took over 30 minutes for them to arrive despite pressing the panic alarm and calling their number. Since then, each time we have an alarm activation, and despite speaking to the Managing Director, they still take 30 minutes to arrive. Last night our alarm went off, we were out at dinner and we arrived back well before the armed response arrived. This was 35 minutes later. This is unacceptable. Instead of improving the services they just make excuses. Word on the street is that the company is falling apart so better to move as soon as possible. A sure sign of this is that they don't respond to people's complaints on this site as other security companies do so it just shows how poorly they deal with customer service.
