I I would like to lodge a complaint regarding an incident that occurred at Shoprite Usave on Skosana Xaba Street 16/4/2026.

I sent a child to purchase onions from the store.however, the child mistakenly bought potatoes instead. Upon realizing the error immediately, we returned to the store to request an exchange. The manager on duty refused to assist us, stating that Shoprite’s policy does not allow for returns or exchanges on vegetables.

I would like clarity on this policy, as there is no indication on the receipt or in-store signage stating that vegetables cannot be returned or exchanged. Given that the mistake was identified and reported promptly, I believe the matter could have been handled more reasonably.

I kindly request confirmation of this policy and an explanation as to why no exception could be made under these circumstances.
