Alert Warning...******!!! These people are willing to help you quick with a charge fee and deposit also, but the outcome is worse than bad.second appliance i gave in by them, after they took my deposit and appliance asking the price of a new one to fix it.And boy do i regret it again.I let the first one slide but not the second one...Gave my chest freezer,[1 month out of warranty] in by them to replace the compressor only. However i noticed that the door is struggling to seal properly on to the rubber frame which was never a problem...and so it began, the chest freezer started to freeze up just next to the rubber frame until at a point that i had to switch it off at a regular basis.so i read up what that problem is or can be...turns out its the rubber frame that is perished[which never was a problem].And then i thought to myself shockingly, will these people go so far as in changing your rubber frame with a perished one causing a compressor to pack up again just after 3 months???makes sense doesn't it?now for the best part,I phoned them, told them i still have 9 months warranty left but the chest freezer is broken again...Do they have the nerve to tell me i must bring it back?i said excuse me?this is not my fault, you fixed it 3 months ago and its broken again, you must fetch it.they said yes but then we will have to charge you delivery fee.I said how can you charge me if its still under warranty?they rep**** saying we need to look at what the problem is...i said yes but if its the compressor again you need to give me my delivery fee back.they rep**** saying and i quote"that's not how business work".and i dropped the phone. So here's what i think, they will exchange whats needed for an appliance to work, however they fiddle with all the other components,if not the same ones, rubber frames ect...just to make sure you will be back there in 3 months.so please whoever reads this be warned and stay away from this place, they will waste your time and money only...

The van Biljoen's Repair Team was very quick and eager in response to have my washing machine repaired, and collected the machine (at a fee) the very same day. They promised a quote 1-3 days later. After TWO WEEKS of trying to speak to the correct person, and enduring extremely impolite telephone conversations, with different reasons for not having an answer about the machine, I was at my wits end. Firstly, I was told that they do not have a "mother board" in stock, to which my answer was, that there's nothing wrong with the "mother" circuit board, and that it was only the door mechanism which needed attention. Thereafter I was told that they don't have the correct technician available to work on the mother board (yes again!). Oh, and that they don't have a door mechanism in stock. I phoned their own appliance parts division to check on stock before I had the machine collected. There are three admin ladies working in the repairs department, who all seem to be in on the same agenda - whatever it may be. The final call I received, was that they can not repair the machine - R1208.50 later. I subsequently called another Appliance Repair Company in Pretoria, had the machine collected, received a quote 1 day later, and the machine is being fixed as we speak. And NOTHING to do with the "mother" circuit board, which is still in perfect working order, and always has been. The water pump also needed attention, which did not give any problems before it went to Van Biljoen's. From my first repair experience with van Biljoen's some years ago, to the last, there seems to be a huge deterioration in level of service. What a disappointment.

It seems like this company is running a ****. I took my Samsung washing machine and Mercury bar fridge to them on 2025-01-06. The washing machine gave me a door lock error, so I suspected a faulty door lock sensor (R500 for the part next-door to them) I also took my Mercury bar fridge to them, because it wasn't cooling anymore. They charged me a nonrefundable fee of R300 per machine, to inspect and quote, which I was happy to pay. Almost 2 weeks later (2025-01-17) I had still not received a quote and stopped by after work to enquire. They told me that they are still waiting for supplier prices, before they can quote. On 2025-01-25, I finally received a call from a lady, who was very rude. She told me that she couldn't get hold of me, neither on SMS or WhatsApp, to give me the quote, because I gave her the wrong number. (The one she was phoning me on) Her telephone manner was absolutely disgusting. She mumbled something about R5000 for the washing machine and R3000 for the bar fridge. I said that I would rather collect the items and forfeit the inspection fee, because I didn't think the items were worth that much. I asked if I can collect it and she answered very rudely that she still needs to reassemble it. On 2025-02-04, I received a call (on the same number that I "supp**** incorrectly" that the items are reassembled and ready for collection.. On 2025-02-07, I collected the items, and bought a door switch next door for less than R500, which turned out to not be faulty, just loose. The bar fridge just needed to be re-gassed. (R100) While I was working on the machines, I noticed that they didn't even open the machines. (The protective plastic liner was still in place and you could see that the *****s were never loosened.) What was reassembled for over a week? In short, "Van Biljoens Appliance Services" charged me R300 each, for 2x machines, to inspect. They did not work on, or inspect either of the machines. They quoted me a total of more than R6000 to fix both machines, which I declined. It cost me about R600 to fix it myself. I could have saved R500 on the limit switch, because it wasn't faulty. It turned out to be a loose connection. They took a month, to do nothing, other than over-quote me and blame me for why they couldn't phone me. Please be wary when using their "services". They will never see me again.

Did not even want to give this business the one star I had to in order to proceed with the review. My late father only believed in this business. They are not at all what they used to be and should change their name. My mom sent her dishwasher and fridge in for repairs in Nov 2024. The fridge did not make cold anymore. About a week later she received her fridge back. The invoice showed a long list of work done on it. She did not have electricity as she just moved into a new place. The next day she realised that the problem was not fixed and the fridge still did not work and was also damaged on the inside. They came to collect it again. After many phone calls from her and myself, they promised that it will be fixed and delivered before she leaves for the holidays. We told them that they should rather come and collect their loan frifge and pay the money back to her. A promise was made to deliver it that same day, but this did not happen. She only received it back in January. The fridge now do make cold, but completely freezes up. There is a huge block of ice inside in the back. So here we go again trying to get it fixed. I wish we read these reviews before using them. More problems after than before. She could have sold it and bought herself a new one. She did however sold the dishwasher after she paid for it almost the same amount as a new one cost her. Although it spinned properly, it wanted to walk out the door. Did not sent this back as we already had too many issues with this business. The receptionist were rather rude with my mom when she phoned to enquire about the status if things. I got involved because I thought it was because she is a pensioner. The lady was more professional when I phoned, but only after she realised that I was not happy. Do not use this business. It is not the Van Biljoens of the past

We called them to replace our Smeg Dishwasher pump, the pump wasn't working anymore. They fetch our Smeg Dishwasher and about 3 weeks later they delivered it back. After the fisrt use we noticed it doesn't warm anymore. We called them again, they picked it up again. After a week of no communication from their side, we called to ask if they have a update. No said the women their still searching she will let us know what it will cost. (In the fisrt place it worked before we send it to them, now we need to pay again for something they broke) after 2 weeks passing again, no answer from their side. Call them again, no their still searching, they will order parts. It's more than a week later, still no answer.

I don't know what happened to this business and why it's gone downhill. This used to be the flagship go-to business for appliance repairs in Pretoria. I have supported them since early 2000's. This is the first time I have had such a terrible experience. I handed a portable Delonghi Air Conditioner in for quote in Oct 2023. After many calls to the shop I was promised that they would get back to me but no one does. As of June 2024 it been months and I no longer have proof of the item I handed in.

It seems like people are not trained properly or have no pride in their work. Even the people who answers incoming calls are very rude and I suggest you send them on a course how to talk to clients. It seems like instead of employing appliance trained technicians you employ a person who has bought a *****driver to be an appliance technician. It also seems like instead of employing a trained quality control officer you employ someone who knows someone who can read and write. My experience has been the same as vehicle testing station mentality. You repair a cracked window and send it to the testing station, then the testing station sends the car back with a note that the lights do not work. The lights are repaired and sent back to the testing station, then the testing station sends a note back saying that the diff has an oil leak. This only causes money wasted and a hell of a lot of frustration. Disgruntled client
