Good Day.
I registered my daughter in January at Emeris PMB. Upon registration,I was told to pay a R3000 deposit which will be credited to my 1st months instalment. I did apply for fees to be paid in instalments which was approved.
No one from Emeris told me when the 1st instalment will be due. I assumed that since the Varsity is closed and lessons will start in February, the instalment period will from February till November.
I received a call from the Finance department in January stating that the balance of 1st instalment is due by end of the month and the next instalment is due on 1 February. (This is not fare and how does Emeris expect a parent to have R13000 available).
I then managed to secure a student loan and I went into the office and handed in proof of payment.
In February,I received a call from Finance stating that my account is overdue and immediate payment is due. I did tell them that this account has been paid in full.
I contacted the lady from Finance who confirmed that the money was not allocated to the students account. And she will get her manager to allocate the funds.
I then requested a refund cause I had paid R3000 extra. I was told that refund will be done in April and she will forward me all the documents. I returned all documents on 17 February.
Today, when I am following up on the refund,I am told that I need to provide proof of payment for these payments. Yet Emeris can see the money was received and account is due for a refund. How does this seem logical.
I now have request time away from work,to go into the office to sort this out.
Is this acceptable from a University that calls it's self a Private University.
Really sad ,cause Emeris only wanted instalment, instalments. But when refunds are due, they give me the run around.
I hope Emeris does not VICTIMISE my daughter due to this negative feedback done by me.
Kind regards Mergan Govender ***
