Emeris Pietermaritzburg

Very Poor Service
Good Day. I registered my daughter in January at Emeris PMB. Upon registration,I was told to pay a R3000 deposit which will be credited to my 1st months instalment. I did apply for fees to be paid in instalments which was approved. No one from Emeris told me when the 1st instalment will be due. I assumed that since the Varsity is closed and lessons will start in February, the instalment period will from February till November. I received a call from the Finance department in January stating that the balance of 1st instalment is due by end of the month and the next instalment is due on 1 February. (This is not fare and how does Emeris expect a parent to have R13000 available). I then managed to secure a student loan and I went into the office and handed in proof of payment. In February,I received a call from Finance stating that my account is overdue and immediate payment is due. I did tell them that this account has been paid in full. I contacted the lady from Finance who confirmed that the money was not allocated to the students account. And she will get her manager to allocate the funds. I then requested a refund cause I had paid R3000 extra. I was told that refund will be done in April and she will forward me all the documents. I returned all documents on 17 February. Today, when I am following up on the refund,I am told that I need to provide proof of payment for these payments. Yet Emeris can see the money was received and account is due for a refund. How does this seem logical. I now have request time away from work,to go into the office to sort this out. Is this acceptable from a University that calls it's self a Private University. Really sad ,cause Emeris only wanted instalment, instalments. But when refunds are due, they give me the run around. I hope Emeris does not VICTIMISE my daughter due to this negative feedback done by me. Kind regards Mergan Govender ***

Poor choice of Service Provider by Vodacom
Not sure how Vodacom can trust this company. I received an sms, stating that my delivery is scheduled for yesterday, 9 December. When I tried doing an online update, delivery is scheduled for 15 December. I contacted the call centre who insisted delivery would be done yesterday. Delivery was not done. Now I am battling to get any feedback. Can someone please help

Terrible Service
My wife was admitted in May 23 and April 24.Admitting doctor used Lancet to do blood tests. On Monday 19 May, I received an email from Lancet stating that I have an outstanding balance due to a medical aid shortfall. 1st claim is for May 2023 and 2nd for April 24.I have contacted medical aid who state that these are duplicate claims and all is in order from their side. Contacted Lancet who said that will relook at the account and should medical aid not pay, I am liable for a shortfall of R3660.50. How can Lancet withhold this account and expect the customer to do a reconciliation 2 years later. What kind of service is this. My account number is Y***7. My contact details is ***.

Very very poor service from Vodacom
I have 3 Vodacom contracts and have been a Vodacom contract customer for around 12 years. And I am appalled by the way Vodacom has been treating me. I have a simple request of returning a phone. I am waiting from 23 November for this phone to be picked up. Each time Vodacom say, the matter has been escalated. I have reported matter on Twitter, sent an email to complaints department and still nothing. This is the 2nd time that I am writing a review about Vodacom on this platform. I just wonder whether Vodacom only gives attention to their corporate customers and dont worry about small customers like me. My contact number for ***

Upgrade Nightmare
I phoned through 7 October for an upgrade and spoke to an upgrades agent. I did tell him that I need a phone that can will need a dual sim phone. He suggested that I take Samsung A32 5G. The agent confirmed with his manager and said that the phone is a dual sim phone. I received the phone on 11 October and to my dismay the phone was not a dual phone. I phoned *** on 13 October to cancel contract and i asked to speak to the agent that sold the phone to me.According to them arrangement was made for the phone to be picked up. The agent phoned me back and said that he does not know why I received a phone that cannot use 2 sim cards. He said that he will arrange a pickup and will arrange for another phone once Vodacom received the phone and see what Vodacom can do for me. He stated that it will take between 7 to 14 days for phone to be picked up. I phoned back on 19 October as I never receive any confirmation regarding the cancellation. Spoke to same agent who said that the phone was arranged to be picked up. I phoned thru on 22 October, same story. On 31 October, I received an upgrade quote from Comit Technologies and my contract was upgraded. I phone thru 2 November and I requested the agent to call me. He returned the call and said that there is an email trail on his side with his manager and thus reference. I phoned back on 2 November and received a reference , ***. I received a sms on 6 November stating that my query was closed. I phoned *** on 8 November and was told told my phone will be picked up between 7 - 14 working days. i phoned on 9 November to lay a complaint and agent advised that I need to send an email to *** which I did ( I have not received any feedback from the complaints department to date ). The phone was picked up on 11 November.I received an sms on 13 November stating that Vodacom confirmed receipt of phone. I phoned back on 15 November to check if my contract has been cancelled. The agent said that she will ecalate the cancellation request and was not sure why it was not done. I upgraded 2 of my other numbers with the same agent, just voice and data upgrade. I did not receive any communication from Vodacom and I phoned back on 17 October and a spoke to a supervisor who said that they will reverse the contract and I can take another phone. They said that they will phone me back and didnot. I phoned back on 18 November and eventually contract got reversed after 35 days of phoning and complaining. The agent offered me a Psmart 2021 and I advised them that I need a phone that can access google as most of my info is stored there. He and his supervisor advised that this phone can use Google. I received phone on 19 November and I was still very sceptical that phone can use Google. Before opening the box I phone Vodacom again on and agent confirmed that I will be able to access all my google related apps. And guess what most of the apps are not compatible on the Psmart. I phoned thru on 24 October to request the phone to be returned. I was told by the agent that return was logged . I never receive any communication from Vodacom. I phoned back again today and was told by the agent that management does the return. I spoke to lady who said that she will do the reversal and call me back. once the reversal is done the I can take out a new phone. This is where I am now, waiting for Vodacom to phone me back. Is this what Vodacom means by "Further Together " means. I have 3 contracts with Vodacom and I have been a loyal client for over 10 years. I am very disappointed in the way I was treated and feel like moving over to a service provider that can treat me with respect. I wonder how the management would feel about the level of service I have received. ps, I know the names of the agents, supervisors and managers that I spoke to. Very dissapointed Customer Mergan Govender ***

OUTsurance

Waste of time
I recently took up an the offer that Outsurance is currently running. "If Outsurance cannot beat my current insurance premium, then they will give you R500". When the consultant phoned me, I told her that ur current insurance is on my wife's name and that I am paying for it via debit order. She told that it is fine to continue with the quote of my name and if they cannot beat my quote, I will qualify for the R500. After Outsurance could not beat my current premium, she advised that she will sendme the link to forward all the documents and I will then get the R500 as per promotion. I completed everything as per email received. I then received an email from Outsurance saying that I don't qualify for for the promotion as the quote was on my name and the policy was on my wife's name. I replied to the email stating what had happened and no one has contacted me What a waste time. I was on the phone with the consultant for over 2 hours. And I can't remember hoe many times I told the consultant that the policy was on my wife's and she kept on saying that it was fine to continue. Why couldn't the consultant tell me up front that quote needed to be on my wife's then I would have adjusted the quote accordingly. Please educate your consultants not to waste potential customers time. This in not a good reflection on your company. Kind regards Mergan Govender ***

Standard Bank Insurance

Moving Backward
I logged an incident for storm damage on 7 December 2020, claim number HLC20/005735. The claim was for storm damage to one off my solar tubes and power supply for our geyser. Standard Bank appointed Domestic Industries to access solar tubes and Ice Pro Electrical to power supply. Both suppliers confirmed there were storm damages. I have been phoning Standard Bank Insurance everyday since the service providers came to site. At first there was a delay from Domestic Indutries with regards to their report. After about a week, they said that they are trying to find the solar tube.I even gave Domestic Industries details of a service provider who can supply the tube. I have been phoning thru daily and each time the consultant that anwsered my call, apologized for the bad service but never did anything to escalate my issue. No one bothered to take ownership of this claim. I even asked them escalate the issue and get the team leader to contact me. To date no Team Leader has contacted me. Around the the week of 20th of December, Domestic Industries said that all their suppliers are closed and can only supply the quote next year. This was very frustrating as we without hot water for 2 weeks and now we would be without it for Christmas and New Years. I suggested to Standard Bank Insurance to least connect the geyser so we can have hot water. Ice Pro came out on the 23 December and connected geyser to electrical power supply. They did not replace the damaged unit. After a little while the geyser burst and hot water started coming out from the overflow pipe(I have a video of it). I contacted Ice Pro Electrical to tell them what had happened and contacted Standard Bank Insurance to report the leak. I received an SMS stating that a service provider has been appointed and to date this service provider did not contact me nor did they come to site. Since it was Christmas and New Years and Standard Bank were happy that their paying client would go without hot water, I didn't bother following up daily. I phoned through on 4 January 2021,and to my dismay, Domestic Industries said that they cannot source the part. The consultant said that are waiting for the report from Domestic Industries so that they can pay me out for the broken solar tube. I asked about the faulty power supply and blown geyser. She could not give me an answer. She told me that this is unacceptable service and I should lodge a complaint. I phoned the complaints line, *** and spoke to a lady. She apologized for the bad service and said that agent who logged the claim should have taken ownership and followed it up until the matter was resolved. She informed me that this lady would be going for a disciplinary hearing. She said that she would be escalating this issue. She did not give me a reference number and said that I must use my claim number as reference for now and she will forward me a complaint reference number later. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the complaints agent who took my call. I did not receive any communication from Standard Bank for rest of the week and I phoned the complaints department on Friday 8 January. I spoke Mohammed, who also apologized for the bad service. And to my dismay, he said that there were no complaints logged about my poor service. I told him that since Standard Bank cannot find a service provider, I would do their job for them and find a service provider to sort out my issues. To which he agreeded and said once I receive the quote and fault report he will submit it to claims. I forwarded an email with quote to *** on 12 January and a follow up email on 13 January. I sent the email from ***. I didn't receive any response so I phoned on Thursday 14 January and spoke to Mohammed again. He said that my service provider did not supply a fault report and he should re submit quote with fault report and he will forward for approval. I forwarded quote and fault report on Monday 18 January and phoned Mohammed later in the day. He said that someone will give me feedback yesterday. I have not received any feedback. I tried calling the complaints department and my call was cut off for 2 times and the other 2 times, I held on for about 20 minutes with no anwser. I forwarded this above as an email to Standard Banks Complaint Resolution Department on 18 January. I did not get any feedback so I phoned thru on 20 January and I spoke to Terral Kisten who said that I must forward her the quote and she will escalate the issue, to which I did. She refused to give me a reference number and said that I must use the claim number as a reference. I received an email from Clint Petersen on 22 January with the complaints reference number, ***. I phoned Mohammed to find out what's happening and he said that i need to resubmit the quote as claims department rejected the quote. They needed a report. I forwarded the reporon 28 January and Mohammed acknowledged the email. I then received an email from Clint on 2 February stating that Mohammed is handling the case and if I shouldn't get any feedback from Mohammed, then I need to contact him. I contacted Mohammed who was surprised that claim has not been resolved as yet. He told me someone from claims will contact me. I got a call from Gingirikani Chauke on 2 February, who wanted my banking details to which I gave her. She told me that payment of the claim will take 48 hours. I sent another email on 8 February requesting the hold up of the claim. I got a response from Gingirikani that she processed the payment and I must contact The Claims department to see whats going on. Is this not the function of The Complaints Resolution Team, I guess not I don't know what else to do. But one thing, I need to state is that each time I phoned Standard Bank, the agents always brought my attention that there is R1250 access that I need to pay. Is Standard Bank more worried about R1250 access or are they worried about giving their paying clients a service in these dire times. I am based in Pietermaritzburg but Standard Bank is using service providers from Durban. Are there no service providers in Pietermaritzburg registered with Standard Bank. If a service provider cannot provide a service surely common sense will prevail and Standard Bank should appoint another contractor. We are boiling water daily which is a very big inconvenience. Myself and my wife tested positive and recovered from Covid. And still we await our incident to be resolved. I am writing this review in the hope someone from Standard Bank will help resolve my issue Please put yourself in my shoes and advise me what would you have done differently. Is this what "MOVING FORWARD" is all about.
