Hello Peter,
I am lodging this public complaint out of deep frustration after silence from Varsity College following a formal dispute I submitted regarding the wrongful application of “DNQ” (Did Not Qualify) and “FES” (Failed Exams) statuses to my academic record.
To be absolutely clear:
I formally deregistered in April 2021, well before the assessment period. I submitted valid medical documentation with my request. Despite this, Varsity College went ahead and recorded failure-linked outcomes against my name. When I escalated the matter, they outright refused to amend my record — offering no explanation or justification as to why they cannot correct what is clearly an administrative and ethical failure. I now have employment opportunities on hold due to the incorrect academic transcript they continue to issue, and Varsity College’s refusal to take responsibility is having real-world consequences on my career.
This is not only a misrepresentation of my academic record but an issue of procedural misconduct, which I will now be referring to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Council on Higher Education (CHE), and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) if this is not urgently resolved.
Varsity College — your continued silence and lack of transparency is unacceptable. I am prepared to take this as far as needed.
