Hello Peter, My mother recently purchased a gift card at the Queen’s Park Cedar Square location, but when the recipient tried to use it, there were no funds loaded onto the card. This was meant to be a gift, and it was very disappointing and embarrassing when it didn’t work. We have the receipt and card details, so I expect this to be resolved quickly. I’ve contacted customer service but have yet to receive a proper response. Please investigate this urgently and either load the correct amount onto the card or issue a replacement. Errors like this are unacceptable, especially when customers trust your service.
Hello Peter, I am writing once again—this time with profound frustration and disappointment—regarding the incorrect “DNQ” and “FES” designations that Varsity College has unjustly app**** to my academic record. It has now been five full days since I first reached out to Varsity College, providing clear evidence that I formally deregistered in April 2021 with valid medical documentation well before the assessment period. Despite this, these failure-linked designations remain on my record, and I have received no response, no explanation, and no acknowledgment from Varsity College. This silence is not only unprofessional but downright disrespectful. It leaves me with no choice but to question the integrity of Varsity College’s administration and its commitment to fairness and transparency. The wrongful labeling of my academic status is having real and damaging consequences: it is severely harming my reputation and destroying my prospects in a highly competitive job market. Employers have flagged these false marks as red flags, and I am unfairly branded as having failed assessments I never attended. I am deeply frustrated and angry that, despite repeated requests, Varsity College has ignored my legitimate concerns and failed to correct these gross inaccuracies. This lack of accountability and basic communication is unacceptable. As of now, I am escalating this matter to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for immediate intervention. I expect DHET and related bodies to investigate Varsity College’s handling of my case, the apparent procedural failures, and the damage caused to students like myself. Please consider this my final notice. I am no longer willing to wait for a response from Varsity College. I am taking all necessary steps to protect my academic record and professional future. Hello Peter, I am lodging this public complaint out of deep frustration after silence from Varsity College following a formal dispute I submitted regarding the wrongful application of “DNQ” (Did Not Qualify) and “FES” (Failed Exams) statuses to my academic record. To be absolutely clear: I formally deregistered in April 2021, well before the assessment period. I submitted valid medical documentation with my request. Despite this, Varsity College went ahead and recorded failure-linked outcomes against my name. When I escalated the matter, they outright refused to amend my record — offering no explanation or justification as to why they cannot correct what is clearly an administrative and ethical failure. I now have employment opportunities on hold due to the incorrect academic transcript they continue to issue, and Varsity College’s refusal to take responsibility is having real-world consequences on my career. This is not only a misrepresentation of my academic record but an issue of procedural misconduct, which I will now be referring to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Council on Higher Education (CHE), and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) if this is not urgently resolved. Varsity College — your continued silence and lack of transparency is unacceptable. I am prepared to take this as far as needed. ST10*****3
Hello Peter, I am currently representing a fraction of the Law student body at the IIE’s Varsity College Sandton. We are supposed to be starting our 4th year llb (which is currently being phased out) what is supposed to be a very exciting time for us is slowly turning into a nightmare. Students with 1-3 outstanding modules are being told that they would need to be mapped onto the new curriculum, get credited for all the modules they have done from 1st -3rd year and register for ONLY the number outstanding modules on the new curriculum; thus being forced to register only 1-3 modules for the entire duration/ in take of 2024; pushing our graduation back by 2 whole years due to the fact that we will have to complete 4th year in 2025 on the new curriculum. It doesn’t even make sense! What’s worse is that none of this is in line with the ONLY communication we received regarding the phase out process that was sent out in 2021. Further more the Head of the Faculty of law is imposing this incentive on the students causing unnecessary frustration and stress, I am beyond upset with the institutions lack of communication, breach of policy and blatant disregard for the well being of the students and their financial positions thereof. We pay an excessive amount of money on fees every single year. A student set up a meeting with the programme manager to discuss this situation, in which she proceeded to tell them “ I don’t want to sound mean or anything but I don’t think you are going to pass your supplementary exams” suggesting a push into being mapped. None of us are even being given an option or advised about an alternative route that ends with us graduating in a timely manner. We are being pushed into an arrangement we only came to know about THIS YEAR, the concept of mapping while the degree is still being phased out is new information to us. Students are constantly at war with this institution and its inconsistent, unorganised, money hungry nature since day one. We are at our wits end. I wouldn’t advise anyone to send their kids to the Sandton branch in particular, it’s a horrible, environment. FYI According the communication received in 2021, students registered in the phase out degree would get at least one opportunity to re-register for the outstanding module at 40% completion time. It further suggests that in the event that the module is not being offered anymore we would be required to register for an alternative MODULE while completing the year as normal and being awarded with an internal credit. In the case of a high credit load the policy also states that a student in the phase out question may be approved for an increased credit load provided that at least one third of MODULES they’re wish to register for are repeats; we know see that the student hub are also declining these applications not based on merit but based on a suggestion. I strongly suggest the credibility of this institution is investigated. Sincerely, A very disheartened student body
