ABSA-BRANDED OFFER LETTER USED IN R146K UNAUTHORIZED ESTATE SALE – 10 YEARS NO REFUND FROM VARTRUST In 2013, I paid R146,178.79 for a property in an insolvent estate. VAR Trust (Renee Varejes & Darren Lundin) kept my deposit, even though the sale never went through. The offer letter used Absa branding and included a 5% commission, but the transaction was unauthorized and legally void. Tracy Hill (Resolution Trust) and the Master of the High Court oversaw the estate. Despite formal legal demands, my money has been withheld for 10 years. I am demanding full refund plus 10 years accrued interest.

I write this review in complete distress We were residing at the above-mentioned property as tenants and later proceeded to purchase it through Vartrust Properties, with Renee Varejes as our property agent. While the initial interactions with Ms. Varejes were cordial, the situation deteriorated significantly after our lease expired during the property transfer process. To avoid any further rental liabilities, we vacated the property while the transfer was still in process. During this period, locks were changed by Renee Varejes and Anchané Kriek without our knowledge or consent. When the registration was finalized, keys were couriered to us, but they were faulty and nearly impossible to use. As a result, we couriered them back to Ms. Varejes to resolve the issue. Issues: Unprofessional and Hostile Behaviour by Anchané Kriek: Throughout the legal process, Ms. Kriek displayed persistent rudeness and hostility. She failed to engage with us in a professional manner and created an environment of unnecessary stress and conflict. We understand she has since left her firm, which reflects on the nature of her conduct. Negligence and Lack of Transparency by Renee Varejes: Upon returning the faulty keys to Renee Varejes, we expected a prompt and professional resolution. Instead, she handed over the keys to Ms. Kriek without our consent — someone we had clearly had a strained relationship with. When asked who was in possession of our keys, Renee. Varejes refused to provide a clear answer and became combative in correspondence, even stating she would no longer engage with us. We have emails documenting this conduct. Financial Burden Shifted to Us; Renee Varejes suggested that we should have changed the locks ourselves, passing the responsibility and cost for their decision (changing the locks without informing us) onto us. This is unacceptable, especially considering the property was in a different state than when we left it. As of now, we still do not have access to the property, as the keys have not been handed over. Despite our repeated efforts, we have received no assistance from Renee Varejes in locating the individual who reportedly holds the keys. This situation is unacceptable. We are already incurring bond payments on a property we are unable to access, and the lack of support and professionalism demonstrated thus far is deeply concerning.

Completely unprofessional agents we moved into a townhouse complex where we were told our pets would be welcome the day we moved in we were informed by the caretaker that they are not allowed in back yard.received the house filthy and everything broken bathroom cupboards falling off the wall no burglar bars in lounge we were promised it would be fixed within the first week of us living there..repair guy came and checked what needed to be fixed and never returned then for the agent to tell us that the owner decided it's to expensive we should fix it ourselves. Stayed there for 2 years agent failed to have us sign renewed rental agreement when it expired in October we did the decent thing by giving a months notice end of jan to move end of Feb ...the agent doesn't even reside in jhb where the property is so had us drop the key of by random people ..the inspection was done 2 weeks after we moved out were the agent Is now saying we owe a months rent and R37000 in damages that we did not do to the property and they also have no proof as the said agent "lost" the photos of the inspection done before we moved in..There is a reason nobody knows who vartrust estate is absolutely pathetic service agents have no idea what they are doing and very unprofessional.

I searched for months finding a suitable property to accommodate my 2 dogs. At last Vartrust introduced me to a lovely townhouse which was happy to take my dogs. Deposit, first month's rent and all the other fees were paid upfront and all good to go. One day before moving in, the day i was about to collect the keys, the Estate Agent phones me to tell me she's terribly sorry but they won't accept my Boxer and that the onus is on me to check if the complex allows dogs of that size, and that after i had checked with the Estate Agent. I had already given notice at the place i was staying at the time and was forced to vacate the property without having anywhere to go to. Their service is pathetic and they have absolutely no empathy. They couldn't even bother suggesting another property or asked if they can help in any way. Disgusting the way they treat people.

😡😡😡😡I rented a property with VARTRUST REAL ESTATE, at Birch Acres 15 Munungu street. Paid all the money required to rent the property. The Rental, Deposit, Lease Preparation fee, Credit check fee, Deposit admin fee, and Exit inspection fee. Now that I vacated the property, I gave them a month notice and a proof of my account details. I was told it will ONLY take 7 DAYS after vacating the property for me to receive my RENTAL DEPOSIT back and today Marks DAY 17 and I still don't have my money. I'm getting a run around from my former Agent and their Admin, I am not being assisted. I'm not sure if A Legit business should treat it's clients this way. I am so disappointed and angry. WHY REQUIRE A MONTH NOTICE IF YOUR BUSINESS IS NOT GOING TO DELIVER A GOOD SERVICE TO THEIR CLIENT? I WISH NOT to ADVICE ANYONE to use VARTRUST REAL ESTATE PROPERTY😡😡😡😡 THEY FAIL TO MEET THEIR PROMISES. UNHAPPY CUSTOMER😡😡👎👎👎👎

They have no interest in communicating, I was dealing with an agent - Felicity who repeatedly would not get back to me and change plans we made to view a house that is listed for sale. Her general attitude was filled with excuses when I told her to leave the viewing. I can understand the circumstances, but does it really justify not giving proper feedback and communication? When I called to complain to the agency twice - after they took down my number incorrectly I dealt with Reneé, who had an even worse attitude and sense of entitlement. "All I can do is apologize." So lovely if it was actually sincere. Their values mention the below, and yet they themselves do not follow it: We are professional and: • Will be available to take a call or will call back on every message. • Will respond the same day, we have sincere interest in your contact. • We are knowledgeable and well informed about our area, the market and all aspects of property sales and rentals. • We are honest and transparent in all our dealings with buyers and sellers.

These guys are ****s specifically Rene and Verona they are *******.We had to fix the house as they gave us an occupational hazard and we couldn’t get them to fix anything. They didn’t refund our deposit we had to fight for it and when it came they charged us for staying two weeks over yet we had moved in a week late as the house wasn’t ready on time.
