This "company" should be avoided at all costs.
I have lost count of how many excuses Jon (the so-called owner of We(don't)Drill) has proffered in the course of our engagement. We contacted him in November of 2017, accepted his quote (R110,000) and paid the hefty deposit of 60% for fear of losing our promised place in a "large" queue of clients. They were meant to start the installation in late February.
In the following months we were given excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't start drilling. One of which was requisite legislation which requires and application to the City of Cape Town 14 days prior to installation of boreholes, which he didn't know about. Pathetic!! The installation eventually started at the end of August. The concept of client satisfaction is a non-entity with these guys, and the entire process was unpleasant and extremely messy. A little bit of forethought and planning could have negated a lot of the mess.
We were left with a river of sludge pouring into the street over a weekend, when no drilling actually happened, and almost no access to our own property. Not a single damn was given by Jon at this point (who, it must be said at this point makes very few appearances on site during the drilling process).
The clean-up was meant to start as soon as the drilling was complete, but it took another 3 days for them to even begin. The clean-up crew were pathetic, and again there was zero sympathy from Jon. I eventually had to arrange, privately, for a skip to be delivered so that the guys who did arrive to do the clean-up had somewhere to put the sludge, as this was seemingly beyond Jon's capabilities. My wife had to deal with the police and traffic department for a week, while the clean-up crew sporadically made appearances.
At the end of the installation we received an additional invoice for steel piping, which wasn't on the original quote. We can't find any proof that this piping was even installed. The pump attached to our holding tank has blown because it was wired incorrectly by his 'electrician' and the pump from the borehole works only intermittently.
I would strongly advise anyone reading this to steer well clear of this company, and Jon Stephenson in particular. ALL operations are outsourced and they are, in effect, a middle-man/consultancy business (with very little industry knowledge). They do not have pubic indemnity cover (we have found that out as well, unfortunately).
