We booked a 4 night stay at the Wishing Well Lodge from the 8/12/16 until 11/12/16. The total cost was R6000 of which we paid a deposit of R3000 and the balance of R3000 as arranged before we checked in on the 7/12/16. We were promised hotel services exactly as their website has advertised and i was very impressed with their offering. My family and I wanted a clean and neat affordable accomodation as we were in Durban to attend a fmaily wedding. Upon arrival we were taken to our 2 bedrooms one of which was an ensuite. Mercy the assistant took us in and even admitted that as she was off sick the place was not cleaned out. The entrance door was swollen from the rain she admitted. To our shock and dismay our bedrooms were filthy, smelly and damp. There was cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the light switches, aircon was out of order, plug point had no plating, no extension cord, rotten built in cupboards and no toilet paper. The kitchen was actually a lapa with run down old and filthy appliances and dishes. The carpets and rugs were filthy and smelly, the patio in the same condition, the bedding was smelly and filthy as well. Having no where to go we stayed the evening and checked out the next morning. When i confronted the owner Elizabeth she tried to deny my allegations and when i threatened to take this further she asked for my banking details without me asking for a refund and she promised to transfer the R6000 into my account the same day. Up until today she has not refunded me , she refuses to take my calls and when she does she cuts me off. The first enquiry i made for the refund she told me that we left of our own accord and that she was waiting for some documents before she will refund me. This was on the 11/12/16. The second time i called was on the 13/12 and then she said she is at liberty to pay me whenever she wants to. I managed to get hold of her assistant Mercy only to be told that Elizabeth has suddenly had a family crisis and left for JHB between the 2 calls i made earlier that morning. It is now a week since we checked out of the horrid Wishing well Lodge and I am still trying to get my refund.

So today for my husbands birthday he really wanted to spend the day by a pool - we no longer have a pool - however he really didn't want to be around a lot of people, which left me with quite a dilemma to give him what he wanted for his birthday. We made a booking at a lodge to spend the day there, have lunch and use their pool, who let us down at the last minute and decided they actually don't allow \that sort of thing". Late last night"
