1. Paid R 538 000 to install decking, stairs, front door, handrails, gates 2. Deck substructure is collapsing 3. Gates & handrails do not comply with local council legal regulations 4. Defective Front door & frame 5. Contractor refused to rectify defects

Cupboard door unhinged after two months
My poor review relates to the product breaking soon after purchase, and poor aftersales service. I ordered two custom wardrobes to be made in September 2024. All dealings were over Whatsapp and the individual assisting me was helpful, going so far as to have the workshop team match the colour of the wardrobes to paint chip colour references that I sent. The wardrobes were also delivered within the timeframe given, and looked good and sturdy on delivery. However two months later (November) one of the hinges on the door came off (detached from the cupboard) and the door can now only opened a small degree. I messaged the individual I had dealt with and was told twice that their workshop team was inundated with work orders, and would get in touch to arrange a time to fix the cupboard. By December this had still not happened, and calls or texts to the WhatApp number go unanswered. I paid in full and on time, and for the cupboard to have broken so soon is unacceptable. Furthermore it presents a safety hazard at it used by my elderly mother (82yrs old), who would not be able to support the weight of the door should it fall off completely while she tries to open it.

Theft
I bought 2 pieces of furniture and paid them cash (in April 2020) which I never received,when I requested the owner company (Donovan van Zyl and his wife Chantel Van Zyl) for a refund (on the 13th July),they told that they were advised not to refund my money after promising on 2 messages sent to my whatsapp from both their cellphones.I have posted my story on most of the Facebook groups in the Kzn(that's were they advertise their business)and I'm planning to add my post on more groups,local newspapers,radio stations and I will definitely take them to court for theft and misrepresentation.Their contact numbers are 0793058713/0609477458.

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Vishan Thathiah ********** is very good at selling you a fantastic project, he has all the fancy quoting and design software but he is incredibly unprofessional in that he cannot account for the funds he uses, he fails to stick to his quote, he does not keep to the timelines, and he delays the project in order to exploit and obtain more money. This was a very frustrating experience and what should have been an 8 week project turned into a 5 month nightmare. At the time of writing this review, the project is still not completed. He operates from his house and he is not equipped to do this work. Lies lies and more lies! The sad part is that his workmanship is of a good standard but working with him is a disaster. Rather go with the professionals! The frustration is not worth it!

HE STOLE OUR MONEY AND NEVER COMPLETED THE JOB
I wanted to advise everyone of this con man, his name is Vishanth Thathiah and runs a cupboard building business. He came to my house, spoke very nicely and professionally about his trade. He did not draw up his own cupboard plans instead used the ones I had acquired from another company. He asked me for a 60% deposit which was almost R100 000 in order to fit my entire 420square meter house. He then delayed our buidling by not producing the cupboards in time. He started the job and only finished a quarter of the work, He then made up stories about his suppliers delaying the order but when we phoned the suppliers they did not have any order from him. He then refused to give me back the remaining R40000 of my money for the work he had not completed, part of this work was my main kitchen where I had paid him for solid wood fittings etc. I sent him many emails and phoned contiously for my money and got nothing. He owes me my money to this day-1 and a half years later. Easy Life Kitchens completed my house, we had to move in with no kitchen. Please DO NOT give this man your money. I have more details and proof of this fraud. Phone me on 0827302030 to get more details.
