I recently used World Remit to send money to my mother out of the country where I reside and the transaction failed. Had to send a friend to do the transaction for me. To my surprise I was contacted by World Remit a few weeks later telling me that even though the transaction said ‘failed’ money had gone out to my recipient and they will deduct the money from card. This was untrue and there was no record of this transaction on my World Remit transaction log. I tried to call them before they took money but was stuck with a useless robot that does not understand a thing. When they finally deducted money I managed to chat to an agent who just cut me off after pretending I was not responding to the conversation. I requested a chat again and the next agent insisted that money went out but could not provide the reference number for that transaction. I reached out again and the next agent did the same thing, insisted money went out but could not provide the delivery ref number. He then said they would contact me in 48 hours. It’s been 96 hours and no one contacted me. Luckily I got my bank to reverse the transaction. I felt financially abused. Please if anyone is to use World Renit please use virtual cards as they have dynamic CVV numbers. Or rather, use other reliable service providers
