Writer's Write - A Disgrace
When Writer's Write cancelled a course. I asked for a refund. They told me they do not do refunds. When I queried this policy based on changes to the National Consumer Act, they again refused to give me a refund, offering me another course instead. I complained to the Ombudsman and they agreed with me that under the law, I should have had a refund, however Writer's Write refused again to give a refund. How can a company train people in anything when they have no ethics and do not follow the law of the land Find below my response from the Ombudsman: RE: Miss Amanda Renwick Nicky Stetka ********** Yesterday, 15:24 You Good afternoon Amanda I hope you are well. Please be advised that I have considered your matter and made a recommendation that the supplier refund you the amount you paid for the course based on section 47(3) of the CPA which provides as follows: “47. Over-selling and over-booking. ….. (3) If a supplier makes a commitment or accepts a reservation to supply goods or services on a specified date or at a specified time and, on the date and at the time contemplated in the commitment or reservation, fails because of insufficient stock or capacity to supply those goods or services, or similar or comparable goods or services of the same or better quality, class or nature, the supplier must— (a) refund to the consumer the amount, if any, paid in respect of that commitment or reservation, together with interest at the prescribed rate from the date on which the amount was paid until the date of reimbur*****t; and (b) in addition, compensate the consumer for costs directly incidental to the supplier’s breach of the contract, except to the extent that subsection (5) provides otherwise. ….” Please be advised further that we are a dispute resolution agent that attempts to resolve disputes between consumers and suppliers however, we do not have enforcement powers and therefore if the supplier does not wish to co-operate, we cannot force them to do so. Our further report will follow.

No Refunds Policy very Unethical - Writers Write
I booked and paid for a course with Writer's Write. They cancelled the course due to lack of participants, but refused to give me a refund. Very unethical in my opinion. I will not be using them again
