Review for X Bytes – Disappointed with Service and Communication Review Update : 16 May 2025 I requested the controller to be repaired and have been communicating with Keith. There has been no communication regarding if the spare part has been procurred, i am the one that needs to follow up and everytime i am told they will call me and never do. I have subsequently contacted another DJ control repair centre in Johannesburg and have repaired the unit with them. They have told me that X Bytes are notorious for charging high cost for repairing tech and also they do more damage . I warn anyone from using them, has they are absolutely unprofessional and will actually damage your tech . I entrusted my Denon MC6000MK2 controller to X Bytes for servicing, expecting professional support and timely updates. Unfortunately, the experience has been frustrating and deeply disappointing. From the start, communication has been poor, with little to no proactive updates on the status of the repair. Despite multiple follow-ups, I was often left in the dark, unsure of whether any progress was being made. When I did manage to speak to someone, the responses were vague and unhelpful—lacking the transparency and professionalism I expect from a company handling valuable DJ equipment. I had to go back to them three times when eventually they didnt repair the issue i had brought in the controller and apparently the slider on channel 1 & 4 needed to be replaced which i know when i took it in it was working perfectly. However i had no recourse and had to pay R450 and take my controller. I therafter found out its the line switch that was the fault and now i need them to fix this and there is lack of communication after going into the store 30 April 2025@ 1:30pm. I was told i would be called later on to advise on the part and repair ..and as i write this at 17:30pm no communication﹗ This controller is a critical part of my setup, and I handed it over in good faith. Sadly, the lack of urgency and accountability from X Bytes has shown a disregard for both my time and trust. I hope X Bytes seriously considers improving their customer service, communication protocols, and overall client care. DJs and audio professionals rely on both their gear and the people who service it—and in this case, I feel let down on both counts.

Stopped into this particular store to look at a new TV for my daughter. They were really friendly and offered some pretty great deals we couldn't pass up. The service was so superb, that we ended up with Two new TV's instead..!

I needed someone to repair our 4-year-old Samsung TV. I stumbled on the Xbytes repair service. I can't say enough about them, they were prompt and they are great at what they do. Our Tv is up and running again! I won't call anyone else should the need arise!

I took my Rotel RA12 Amplifier/DAC in for repair before the end of 2021, it was so long ago I have forgotten the exact date, and I am still waiting for it to be repaired (or returned). I was initially told there was a problem with the main board and that it would need to be replaced, and for that to happen, I would need to pay for the replacement board before it was ordered. I made the payment (more than R4500), and waited, patiently at first, as Covid was disrupting deliveries and slowing everything down, so their excuses that it was delayed seemed plausible. It took months before the part finally arrived, and in that time, and since then I never received any unprompted update or communication on what was actually going on, every month or so, I would send messages asking for a status update, most of which went ignored, eventually after much pestering and occasional 'in person' visits, they would give me some excuse that this or that had happened. Long story, not so short, here I am, soon to be a year on, and as far as I know they are no nearer to fixing it that they ever were. I have threatened them, that I want my money and amplifier back, which usually gets some response, usually a new explanation of what is causing the delay, followed by another month or so wait before I remember to contact them again and ask what the latest progress is, I have finally given up, and decided to write this review, which is in short, 'If you actually want your device repaired, and it is in any way out of the norm, brand or repair complexity wise, then take it to X-Bytes at your peril.
