TOTAL DISAPPOINTING SERVICE AND FOOD
I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the service I received during my recent visit to Yellowood Cafe in Howick. The experience was far below the standard expected of an establishment of your reputation. Upon arrival, my party was presented with a drinks and food menu. However, our initial drink orders were incorrect, and we were informed that several options were out of stock. The substitute drinks provided were unsatisfactory. Additionally, the meals arrived incorrectly, with one main dish featuring rice instead of the ordered jacket baked potato with sour cream and chives, and the steak was overcooked and lacked flavor. Furthermore, the quality of the fish served was unacceptable—overcooked and poorly presented. Our subsequent drink orders faced similar issues, resulting in long delays and incorrect items being served. The overall attitude of the waitstaff was unprofessional and contributed to an unpleasant dining experience. To add to our frustration, billing issues arose, and the service throughout was both slow and inefficient. Given the high prices charged, the service provided was inexcusable. The manager had no option but to waiver the cost of the fish meal on viewing what it looked like herself. I believe that customer feedback is an avenue for improvement, and I hope that this matter will be taken seriously to avoid future occurrences.
