Zone Fitness Rondebosch, Cape Town

I visited Zone Fitness Rondebosch as a guest with my partner during their advertised “Buddy Thursdays.” Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing from the moment we arrived.

At the front desk, I received poor service and was immediately bombarded with prices and membership options. I clearly explained multiple times that this was my first visit to the gym and that I had no prior experience with Zone Fitness. I was not prepared to complete forms or sign up for a membership on the spot, yet this was not respected.

Despite being a guest, I was refused entry and accused of being someone else who had visited the gym the previous week. This accusation felt inappropriate and made me feel racially profiled. Even after staff said they would allow me through the turnstile, I was left standing and waiting while being spoken to in an accusatory and unprofessional manner. No apology was offered.

In addition to the poor customer service, the gym equipment appeared outdated. The treadmill I attempted to use lacked proper grip, and the buttons were difficult to press, which could pose a safety risk to members.
