I tried to see if they were interested in buying my late father's furniture, they said they weren't able to offer me anything but I was welcome to donate the items to help the community. I had just lost my father and didn't feel like dealing with a load of people coming and haggling, and my father was a good man so I thought to save the hassle I would donate it to them to help people out. As they are listed as a charity. I stupidly assumed the furniture would be donated to people who needed it within the community. I then see it all advertised, a complete total of R8880. I asked where this money would go, would it go to charity, I was told no, they tried to explain that helping the community was by offering cheaper furniture. And acted like I should be grateful they came and took it for free, as I explained I could've advertised it anywhere for free and people would've taken it for free. If I'd known it would be just to line their pockets and add to their profit margin I would never have donated it to them, I would've rather given it to a real charity. Or i wouldve just tried selling it myself as my dad left behind lots of debt. Very misleading and will never deal with them again. I have brought from them as well, and found one couch leg had just been hammered in with numerous nails which was never disclosed. So if you think your donation to them is going to help anyone, please rethink and find a real charity. I just wish I had double checked where the furniture was going before giving it to them. Suppose it's my fault I didn't do more research.
