WARNING: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANDERSON KAITANO OF A&R WELDERS ⚠️ I am posting this as a public warning based on my direct and ongoing personal experience with Anderson Kaitano trading as A&R Welders. I contracted Anderson/A&R Welders to do wall construction, supply and install gates, rubble removal, and painting. I paid over R34,000 upfront for this work. To date: ❌ The project was never completed ❌ Gates that were fully paid for were never installed ❌ Large portions of the work were abandoned halfway ❌ Painting was done poorly and partially ❌ My property was left looking like a construction site/junkyard ❌ Neighbours complained due to unfinished and unsafe work ❌ I received constant excuses, missed deadlines, and contradictory stories ❌ Promises were repeatedly made and repeatedly broken At some point, Anderson’s own workers contacted me claiming they had not been paid, despite me having already transferred money for labour. This alone raised serious concerns about how funds were handled. For months, I tried to resolve this matter privately and respectfully. I asked for: Completion of the work OR A refund so I could hire someone else Neither happened. Instead, I was met with delays, dishonesty, avoidance, and empty assurances. Even when clear deadlines were agreed to, Anderson simply failed to show up or provide proof of progress. Eventually, communication deteriorated into excuses and misinformation. 📌 Bottom line: This contractor took substantial payment and failed to deliver the agreed services. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering A&R Welders to think twice and protect themselves. If you are already dealing with this business: Get everything in writing Do not pay large amounts upfront Keep proof of payments and messages Be prepared to take legal or consumer-protection action I am sharing this so others do not go through the same frustration, financial loss, and stress that I did. ⚠️ Proceed with extreme caution. ⚠️

Highly suspicious. Anderson and his team are active on Facebook community groups and I thought I would support what appears to be a local initiative with good intentions. I phoned Anderson and he came to assess my gate and gave me a quote. I promptly paid the substantial fee quoted for materials and labour via EFT. He did not arrive the following day to complete the job. This is not some sort of a random scammer - he has a registered business. When I call, he declines and responds with a message along the lines of "I am busy, but will get back to you soon". Just under 4 months have now passed and despite multiple calls from my side (never his), there is no sign whatsoever of the goods or labour that I have paid for. He makes multiple excuses about being let down by his colleagues, suppliers, even his wifi connection. It is endless - I have given up on contacting him because my time is just not worth it. However, I feel that others need to be aware of how this company operates in order to avoid being exploited as I was. I posted a review on the Facebook business profile which was promptly deleted, followed by a vaguely threatening phone call from a private number. Approach with caution. https://aandrwelders.co.za

I am really one who loves supporting small and local businesses. But, some of these small businesses take our support for granted. I contacted one A nd R Welding to sort out my gate the one time. I found them through Bark. They came running and sorted my gate well. I paid and decided to give them more work. I asked them to fix my sink. They asked for a deposit of R1 950. I paid this on 16 August 2019. To this day, my sink is not fixed. I have been given a whole lot of reasons ranging from "the steel is being galvanised" to "our tools are locked away in violence-ridden Hout bay." Each time I am the one doing the follow-up. They don't tell you anything or call when they promise to call back. On the 23rd of Sept 19, they told me they were on their way to collect their tools. Today 4 October 19, after I followed up again, they told me they failed to collect their tools (even though they have also said they are busy with other work, which I think they are using magic tools on). https://aandrwelders.co.za/ I would not recommend them to anyone seeking repairs or similar work.
