The ‘Taun’ in the side of the cycling, 4x4 and outdoor adventure community has struck again… (and again… and again).
SCAM ALERT: A WARNING TO THE MTB CYCLING / 4X4 / OUTDOOR ADVENTURE COMMUNITY Please beware of Taun Kirby Bewsher aka “The notorious wood fetcher”, affiliated with Adventure Logistics Cycling Tours, Adventure Cycling tours, Authentic Adventures, ADVLOG (PTY) LTD. The ‘Taun’ in the side of the cycling, 4x4 and outdoor adventure community has struck again… (and again… and again). We booked a MTB cycling trip to the Hessequa/Overberg region with Taun Bewsher of Adventure Logistics Cycling Tours that was meant to take place from 2-8 Sept 2021. Taun Bewsher, made all the right noises; speedily answering any queries, sending a packing list, sharing videos/blogs of previous trips, and sending an itinerary. Paid in full, flights booked, leave put in. We contacted Taun on 26 Aug to confirm our pick up, only to receive an apologetic email in reply with a notice of voluntary liquidation attached. “Sorry”. No trip. No refund. Enjoy your life. It seems Taun Bewsher is much better at saying “sorry” than he is at running cycling or 4x4 adventure tours. As it turns out he has said sorry many times before, to many different tour groups as far back as 2015… and possibly even before then. According to a post on 4x4ag.co.za, in 2015, trading as “Authentic Adventures”, Taun Bewsher took a group of people on a 4x4 trip. Very early on in the trip he stepped out to fetch wood and never returned - sending only a message with the word “Sorry”. They continued on the trip only to find he had not made the bookings or arrangements. There was a big hoohah and allegedly, eventually, the money was refunded. We currently know of at least 7 people on our trip who have been affected (this time), but don’t just take our word for it. Fraud charges against tour operator
Please stay away from anything Taun Bewsher organises Adventurelogistics.co.za He cancelled our Richtersveld trip in March halve a day before departure ; said he tested covid positive .. Just to find out he has been doing this all the time !- cancels trips a day before departure used Being covid positive a few times - Also going into business rescue is one of his favourite excuses - In retrospect there was a few red flags that he had no intention to run the trip in the first place ! He put pressure on us ( 4 people) to book and pay asap in January - ‘’as there was already a waiting list for this trip’’ Hardly communicating any packing list or info about the trip Doesn’t give any accommodation information about his trips No reviews or very few pictures of previews trip he ran No registration with SATSA or ASATA or any other touring or adventure travelling group He said he will pick us up at out homes on the morning of our departure - but never asked us where we stay ? Then he promised to refund - But ducked and dived - Even send false proof of payments after 2 months from Discovery bank. Currently a lot of complains all over Social media about him defrauding people also in the 4x4 circles as he goes along - He takes clients money then cancels trips at short notice .. Promise to refund - send out false pop and disappears - He only refunded me after I laid charges and Absa bank fraud devision contacted him - currently still many clients from different trips waiting for there refunds - social media Charges of fraud as a group as been laid against him

Adventure Cycles - Best way to NOT get a holiday.
Do NOT trust Taun Bewsher from Adventure Cycles to book any sort of holiday for you, He will take the deposit 2 to 3 months before your holiday, he will then require the balance 1 month before your holiday starts. 2 weeks before the holiday he will make a decision to move you holiday a month later because of COVID (Yip, he will decide on your behalf). The truth is he takes the money and does not book your holiday and we confirmed this with our destination. You then have to fight and threaten to get your money back. All the above mentioned is in writing and cannot be disputed. Reported Adventure Cycles to Discovery Bank Fraud department as well. DO NOT USE ADVENTURE CYCLES....
