I called Affordable Garage Doors also known as Stark Garage Doors to come and assist with re-programming my garage remotes as they seem to not connect to the motto after I had the batteries changed. Two technician came one of whom was Richard they checked the mottos and told me they were damaged by a surge when there was lightning. And that the remote was not the problem. They proceeded to remove both mottos to replace them with new ones for which they told me cost 5k each. Even though I was did not give an go ahead they proceeded to install the new mottos. I then felt uneasy and pressured and called my partner to speak to Richard on my behalf as I felt I may be taken advantage of as I am a lady. After the then decided not to proceed but rather get an 2nd opinion. I asked Richard to put my mottos as 10k was not in my budget and that will call them when I am ready. He removed the new ones but advised against putting my mottos back as they will burst and burn the house. A few weeks later I called a different company for a 2nd opinion and to my Suprise it turns out the mottos are in perfect working conditions. Not only was I **** to but my 2 remotes, 2 brackets that hold up the mottos and 5 nuts were also taken by Richard. When I called the company wanting to speak to Nadine, I got hold of a lady who said she was not Nadine but she worked with her. The lady was rude to me say the least. I also spoke to Richard who told me he gave back my remote because if he took it he would have taken my house keys however my remotes were not attached to any keys or key holder. The motors were checked by another company and installed back, tested and work perfectly. It makes me wonder how many other customers like me were pressured to buy new mottos and fell for it? And how many people who did not comply had parts taken with to make it difficult for a different company to help. And how many customers called and treated with disrespect.

Extremely poor work ethic and customer service. Book appointments but is then a no show, arrives a month later out of the blue. Excessively overpriced and not market related. Advised me that the motor they were replacing is no longer available in the market and difficult to program so they would have to install a different motor. Only to realise after the fact and after doing some research that the motor I had is very much available in the market and one of the best whilst the new one they installed is discontinued and only half the price they charged me incl the installation ! They also cannot provide a detailed line item invoice, and demanded immediate payment before leaving the premises.

Affordable Garage Doors is based on the West Rand. I have used their services countless times and I have recommended them and will continue to recommend them to anyone qho requires repairs to their garage doors. Their service if efficient, extremely professional and their work is of very high quality. On quite a few occasions I've had to call on them after work hours and even on weekends and they have responded almost immediately for various issues which they always resolved.

Excessive pricing to replace two batteries and to adjust the tension on one spring. Cannot produce a detail invoice with line item pricing. There technician Mr R has a very poor business work ethic. This company also goes as Stark Garage Doors
