Alpha Metering – Bully Tactics

I was recently involved in a transaction where Alpha Metering provided electricity services. Despite multiple requests to amend the account to reflect the actual amount owed, the company insisted on payment for an additional three months with interest that were not due.

To enforce their position, electricity to the property was disconnected.

Both staff and management maintained that the full amount—including the disputed three months and added interest—had to be paid before reconnection would be considered.

It’s unacceptable that a company can use access to basic services as a means to bully consumers into submission, especially when there is substantial evidence proving the amounts in question are not owed.
