I signed up with this broker called Edward Ngwenya, representing Clearwaters Financoal Services and Later Amaraka Investments, who I dealt with mainly on the phone as I was in Cape Town and he in Jo'burg. First year was cool and I had my car written off and he sorted everything out with the insurance company. Then towards the end of 2015, sorting out my sectional tittle claim as promised, was a mission, I got the run around for a 2months, sometimes he'd be in a car and hand over the phone to a women's who claimed he was driving. This guy is the CEO of said companies. Before end of the year I get an email about moving my insurance from Renasa to Oakhurst, i did not like the schedule, and told them In many emails and phone calls not to move my insurance as I was happy with Renassa, I was ignored for over a month. Until I emailed informing them that I would be looking for a new broker and they should not sign me up with anyone. I then get a from a guy to speak to me, not the CEO who was giving me the run around and treating me as a charity case. I spent an hour with this guy, who apparently has many degrees and can sort things out, I made it clear that I was not happy with decisions made about my insurance and when I inform them to not change my insurance they ignore me and go ahead. Eventually the guy resolves that Edward just did not respond to one email which caused the whole thing. 3 months into the insurance u get a call from Edward at 8 am apologizing first for making the decision to move to Oakhurst as he just completed a claim and took months, so we need to find me a new insurer, I was livid, and he sent me all sorts of quotes, that were not impressive and I eventually told him to get a quote from Renasa as I was happy.

I have a slight ding with my car and the process to get the paper work etc was hell, and constantly be sent things like you have 24 hours to get this to me, etc. ultimatums all the way, and being treated like this is a huge favour and u should be greatful. At this point I think the guy managed to get few corporate clients and he just didn't care about any of his first clients, emails were never read past the second line, as I'd have to repeat requests etc. I decide in May, I was done and would be getting a new broker with the new insurance, from there on he told me he won't be handling my current claim whuch he already received commission on, I should send letter of appointment quickly so the new broker can take over file. Also made it clear in the aggressive emails and calls if he picks up, that he won't really making my claim a priority as I am leaving the company. Took forever to foward me the approval from insure, following calls and emails, etc and around 6pm one evening I received an email, 'just said "sorry it took long, here is the authorization inform me at end of business day tomorrow so I can arrange car hire" I thought okay, I first need to inform the repairers, and they order parts from BMW and only then will they tell me when they'll pick my car. So I foward feedback from repairer and tell him it doesn't work like that. I get a harsh email saying, we demand a letter appointing your new broker within 24 hours or we will send you an email cancelling our services. Really harsh tone, and stipulation g that they will not assist any further, with this claim. Anyway I get a date to book in my car and I call, email his office on 26th May requiring to arrange a car by Monday 30th. With no no response, I go directly to insurer, who just told me to deal with my broker, since I am also leaving insurer Oakhurst they were not keen to help, I have been paying R100 each month for 30 day car hire on top of my premiums and excess waiver, IVP etc. I spend 1 hour on the phone with Edward Ngwenya now begging him as my current broker to arrange that I have car hire Monday morning, he tells me he us in s meeting, which is what he always seems to do and he will sort it out Monday at 8am. From 9am Monday, I call his office, speaking to at least 5 people each saying they will get back to me, cause he is in a meeting, this went on for hours.

Long story short, Monday 30th May it's about 4 pm and no car, with my four year old waiting for me at school, I am told the director of the car rental will call and arrange with me. I had to quickly sign up with Über and that's how I have been traveling to do school runs, work, etc.. But I have paid for car hire. I have sent emails to the broker telling me how appalled i have been with the service, in the last 6 months and this tops the cake, how I now am struggling to get by with my son or do anything I had planned to do, meetings, court, for this week cause of him, obviously no response from him and his team and I will take it further to the relevant ombudsman. Cause this is unacceptable, from changing a client's insurance without permission and all this. This company run by Edward Ngwenya and Oakhurst themselves the worst you can ever come accross.
