Treat yourself to a magical meal at Bacco's
My wife and I have twice visited this wonderful "new" restaurant. Each time, we have been delighted by the ambience and the amazing food at this gem of a restaurant! If you can, chat with the owner/chef Carla. She embodies the specialness of the offering.

Shockingly rude attitude and poor food from Bacco Estate's chef/manager
Bacco Estate's promise of bringing a true and luxurious Tuscan experience to its clientele fell far short when our discerning wine tasting group visited this venue over the weekend. The wines were average and over priced and the 'qualified patisserie chef out of Le Cordon Bleu, London', produced tragically below par food with a generous side serving of bad attitude. To rub salt into our wounds, we had to wait an hour and a half for our food. Hungry and choking on disgruntlement, I felt compelled to complain for the first time ever in my life. It's difficult to sugar-coat criticism when things are really bad and restaurant complaining is virgin territory. So, I opted for a calm, direct approach and explained to Madame Cordon Bleu that we had found the crumbed pork chop main somewhat dry and tough and the accompanying intriguingly tasteless tomato salad disappointing with its large, soggy, very chewy croutons. Finally, I bravely added that I had counted one lonely thin slice of guava (tinned?) and two sad slices of kiwi perched atop the hard meringue of my 'Winter Pavlova' dessert. Madame rep****, and here I quote: "I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy the meal, but you have actually had a wine tasting and food for only R392." Hmmmmmm - missing the point Madame C? When I looked confused (I was confused), and said in that case I didn't think we would return she said: "You don't need to come back you know. We don't need people like you here." What could I say? I asked for the manager, naturally. Surprise, surprise, the chef is also the manager. Which, of course, explains everything. Sorry Bacco, we won't be coming back.
