BalaBala Willows Crossing Shopping Center, 570 Rossouw St, The Willows, Die Wilgers, Pretoria, 0184.

We had a very unsatisfactory experiance with the manager and staff at the BalaBala chinese shop, located in the Willows Crossing Shopping Center, 570 Rossouw St, The Willows, Die Wilgers, Pretoria, 0184.

Another shopper and I found telescopes on their shelf, advertised with their own printed barcode, for R50. Now this being a chinese shop that sells a lot of "cheap" toys, we didn't think anything of this. When we got to the till, giddy with the prospect of our find, we were met with the cashier telling us that this item scans at over R600...

Doublechecking the barcode, we found that it all matched and we confirmed, more than once, that the barcode we saw on either the shelf and the product matched perfectly. When confronted with their mistake, the manager on duty refuses to come out of the back office to see us. The cashier just keeps on telling us that "the manager doesn't speak english very well" and "IF you want the telescope you have to pay the R600 price or you can leave it"...

The cashier also refuses to give us the managers name.

In conclution, IF you buy anything from this shop and see the price on the shelf, don't automatically assume that it's the price you are going to pay.
