What we thought would be a pleasant and memorable milestone turned out to be a horrible nightmare.
After being married for 10 years, my wife and I finally managed to purchase our first brand new car. However, our joy was short-lived when the car started having problems just 5 days after we took delivery. Upon noticing the issue, I promptly took the car in for repairs. Shockingly, I was told to return the following day, even though the indicator lights wouldn’t switch off, making the car ******* to drive. With no space available for my car, I had no choice but to drive it back home.
Later that day, I contacted Barons Cape Town again, concerned about the battery draining due to the indicator lights staying on. I was reassured that the battery wouldn’t run down and advised to bring the car in the next day. Predictably, the next morning, my battery was flat. I had to borrow booster cables from my neighbor to bring the car in.
I expressed my frustration to the new car sales manager, Elizma, requesting a replacement vehicle instead of the defective one I was sold. Initially, Elizma seemed sympathetic, assuring me I could keep the courtesy car until mine was fixed. Despite this, I made it clear that nothing would change my negative perception of my experience with Barons Cape Town.
Days passed without any communication. When I eventually called Elizma, she misrepresented my words, claiming I didn’t want to deal with her and that she didn’t want to speak to me. It is shocking that a manager would refuse to communicate with a customer. Ten days later, I got my car back, but it hadn't even been cleaned.
Elizma needs to be removed from her position. She has no respect for customers or any customer service abilities.
