BEKEZELA ROOFERS It has been my unfortunate experience that there are a number of fly-by-night companies in the building trade and I have become wary of hiring a company to do alterations to my house. It was therefore very refreshing to find Bekezela Roofing to install Harvey tiles on the ancient corrugated roof of my house. Not only was their quote R20000-00 cheaper than their competitor but the expertise and experience of the director, Mr. Gerard Hawley, is amazing. He was on site every day, not only to supervise but also to do some of the work himself! The site was left spotless every day after they had completed the day’s work. The workers took only a lunch break and did not waste time getting back to work. The final product is stunning. An old house was transformed into a modern house in three days! It is extremely rare to find such quality workmanship in South Africa. Well done Gerald and team, you are superb.

I am delighted to share that the director of this company has agreed to settle this matter amicably over a three month period starting immediately. He has in fact already met his commitment in terms of the coming month June 2020. In my disappointment and frustration over this particular incident I failed to mention that Bekezela Roofers had done sterling work for me on a previous occasion at a different property. (January 2017) It is always extremely difficult to manage the situation when a previously excellent business relationship is suddenly hanging in the balance. I am now fully confident that the relationship and goodwill has been restored and I would not hesitate to use the services of Bekezela Roofers again or to recommend them to others. I extend my best wishes to the company for the future and wish them every success.

BHEKEZELA ROOFERS IS THE COMPANY TO GO WITH! IF............................ You enjoy having buckets and newspapers as a novel idea for interior decorating. Mould spores and holes punched in your ceilings to release water build-up. Your walls flaking and bubbling as a result of water ingress from new roof. Your skirting boards drifting away from walls because of moisture behind them. Your erstwhile perfect bathroom skylight being removed forever. You enjoy seeing your bathroom ceiling lying in your corner bath. You just adore the ambience created by the scaffolding in your bedroom. Your one year workmanship guarantee proved worthless by inability to fix issues. Your correspondence ignored. You don't mind paying a private civil engineer to assess the "professional" job. You don't mind being offered "a nice bottle of wine" by way of an apology. You don't mind paying for all the primary damage to your roof because "fully insured" now means poor compensation for secondary damage only. You don't mind paying the provider's policy excess out of your inadequate claim. You don't mind the meaningless and fruitless offers to "settle" with you which don't and won't amount to anything-purely a feeble attempt to save reputation. You value your personal time and sanity so little that you spend three months cleaning up the consequences of what was originally a three day job. THEN I UNRESERVEDLY RECOMMEND BHEKEZELA ROOFERS! DON'T SAY YOU HAVEN'T BEEN WARNED! CAVEAT EMPTOR! IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE VISUALS I HAVE SOME FABULOUS PHOTOS!

Good day, A registered and professional roofer (per his letterhead) recently replaced the tiles on my wife's property's roof in order to give her the assurance that a leak as a result of the original mismatched tiles will be fully resolved and that it will prevent probable future (within reason) problems. The work was completed on 17 Sept 2019. With the first rains in early November, 2 new leaks were discovered. These got progressively worse even though the roofer attempted to rectify the matter on several occasions. The current situation is that the ceilings are extensively damaged, mold growing on same, and damage to laminated flooring. The recent, and persistent rain, has exacerbated the damage and is impacting seriously on my wife's quality of life, e.g. sleep deprivation as a result of constant dripping water in the bedroom and bathroom. During this period of rain (4 through 9 December 2019) the roofer made no attempt to even enquire how my wife is coping, or, if he can do anything to minimize the problem in the interim. The roofer in question is Gerard Hawley (082 331 3535), owner of Bekezela Roofers cc based in Benoni. Thank you & regards Ig Claassen on behalf of Majella McEvoy Cell number 060 457 3496
