I honestly almost don’t know where to start. This was the singular most disappointing restaurant experience I have ever been through. We had specially booked around 2 or 3 months in advance to entertain guests from abroad. 2 days before the booking the restaurant manager (more on him below) announced to us that we would now be required to pay a deposit to secure the booking. Annoying, but we dutifully complied. Upon arrival not only was our table not ready, but it was also not in the location the restaurant had agreed to. Waiting 20 minutes to sit and managed to get a round of drinks after about an hour, when we were eventually served. Food took similarly long and was bland and unpleasant.
If not all, at least some of this would be fine given we were there in peak season (although we were told it was quiet by a member of staff). Our server Princess was pleasant and battled admirably through what was clearly an organizational shambles at the restaurant. What was not acceptable was the conduct of the manager, Godfrey. I have never been spoken to so unnecessarily rudely by anyone in the restaurant trade, and throughout the meal he could be seen and heard, at times shouting at other patrons. Disgraceful behavior towards people simply trying to enjoy a meal with friends and family.
To top things off, the restaurant then tried to avoid deducting our deposit off our final bill (ie double charging).
Will not be returning.
