I want to express my UTTERLY disappointment and disbelief in your shop, which I experienced first hand today.
Your "Manager" gentleman with a beard and bold head slightly long nails, which assisted me with a sale of a tyre (INVcash11002-8423) today bluntly, without a blink, **** to a client.
As as per my telephonic conversation this morning at 11h05 enquiring regarding a price on a motorcycle tyre (120/70 17) for my motorcycle, which out of trust of your shop, and did not ask who I spoke to, confirmed they have a Pirelli tyre available at around R1700-00.
I did confirm I will be at the shop this afternoon, which then lead to my lunch time, to fit my tyre.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted very friendly by this gentleman and a lady, which I also want to compliment the lady (who's name I also did not ask) regarding her very professional and honest way of serving a client, who walked away to smoke, not letting the shop entrance out of her sight for a minute, however not smoking in your face as most employees do.
This gentleman convinced me that your shop does not have a Pirelli tyre for R1700 and he lead me to believe you only have starting price of R2300-00. As my limited knowledge, believed this man, and gave him R500-00 cash, which I did not budget for, however paid as I needed a tyre.
I was lead to believe that the Michelin tyre is the same price (around R2300) which I decided against due the price, however COMPLETELY Slipped my mind to enquire further as I have Michelins currently on my motorcycle. I could have purchased rather the same manufacturer tyre, rather to change.
Nevertheless I purchased this tyre, but was told to wait approximately 45 minutes to fit, and browsed your lovely shop fitted 2 types of jackets as I am in the market for this also in the near future (WHICH NOW I WILL NEVER SUPPORT YOUR SHOP EVEN IF IT IS THE LAST SHOP IN PRETORIA).
Well hour and half later (also must thank the gentleman at the back who even tightened the chain [I do apologize for not knowing the correct terminology regarding this as I am not a biker, just do this out of pure fun]. I walked into the lovely tyre displayed at your right hand side (entering the door) where the helmets are displayed (4 tyres - front and back Pirelli's) which then displayed the price of R1690-00, which your so called Manager disbelieve in pricing.
Upon me bringing this under his attention, he apologized (ONLY "SORRY" ) took a photo and said this pricing is incorrect. I asked him, what the difference is between a GT and ST. His response is the GT is for speed and the ST is for touring like I drive, as per his knowledge I am not a biker and was informed I only drive to work and back with my motorcycle, and do not do runs etc, hence he sold the GT tyre to me.
As I unknowing the difference trusted him with this information, I googled and this is according to google, which makes me more furious regarding this sale of your so called manager. As per google: GT - “GT” means the tyre is meant for heavier motorcycles and "ST" means to combine the Pirelli sporty DNA with a touring attitude. Which makes me wonder why did not sell me the ST with the price of R1700 and insisted to sell the GT. Might this be that I have no knowledge, or rather to see a blind man walking in to a shop selling spikes? or just plain to up his sales?
As I confronted this gentleman he only said "SORRY" not even a proper explanation, or something. I am really just stunned by a "SORRY". I would have wanted a proper explanation, or how it works or something, but A SORRY, and then look at me with BIG EYES. This is a wonderful example of MANAGMENT that your shop reflects. I believe the young gentleman with the leg cast which is VERY YOUNG would have handled this situation better, with al due respect.
I am appalled by this reaction/service from your lovely expanding business.
I really do hope this is not one of those unattended emails and at least a proper explanation or something. I AM JUST STUNNED and believe me this story will definitely travel.
