I'm booked in here at Birchwood Hotel from the 24th March 2025 until the 28th March 2025. We are having our Denosa National Congress. Check in went well we had supper and all was good or so I thought. The following morning I started having stomach cramps and felt a bit bloated. I didn't really think anything of it until I started experiencing diarrhoea as well as others who were attending the Congress. Breakfast was not really a problem because I stayed away from all generally cooked foods. I requested a fried egg and toast and had cereal(cornflakes). Come lunch time you could see that they were serving us food which was left over from the previous day but the flavour was enhanced with different spices and sauces. I refrained from eating avoiding further abdominal issues. The symptoms we were experiencing were reported by the organizers of the Congress and we were asked to complete forms in which we were explaining what we had to eat and so forth. What infuriated me about the whole interview process and filling out of the forms was the fact that they were really not taking any responsibility for our dissatisfactions and ailments which were obviously caused by their food because we were perfectly fine before we ate their food. No medical care was offered instead our organizers had to go out and buy medication for us. It literally looks like they are serving us recycled food. We are a large group of more than 300. So one can imagine how much it has cost our Union(DENOSA) for our stay here for the whole week. They are also not honest in their dealings with us as I have a sister working in the hotel industry and she was able to open my eyes as to what we should be getting whilst staying at the hotel. To give but one example...at dinner we are supposed to be getting two soft drinks but thus is not the case we are getting just one. But overall I feel like I can check out and just go home but unfortunately I'm stuck here until Friday. Horrible horrible experience.
