We booked a table for Sunday, 21 December 2025 at 17:00 (SAST). From arrival, the experience was unacceptable. There was no parking available near the restaurant, and we were not permitted to park at the Dolphin Beach Hotel. We were forced to park almost 1 km away along Marine Drive, which is unreasonable for a restaurant of this standing. The condition of the restaurant is poor and does not reflect what is advertised online. Furniture is visibly worn, with damaged upholstery on chairs, and the floors were dirty, indicating a lack of proper maintenance and basic cleanliness. There is also false or misleading advertising regarding menu offerings. The website clearly states that sushi is half-price on Wednesdays and Sundays from 16:00. At the restaurant, we were told this applies only to sushi on the conveyor belt, not the menu sushi. When this discrepancy was raised, the manager was unaware of the website promotion, which is unacceptable. They have since changed it on their website stating "Applicable only to Sushi Belt Items" This experience reflects poor management, misleading marketing, and a decline in standards. We will not be returning and do not recommend this establishment.

Last night I made a reservation at Blowfish for our anniversary. On arrival, we checked in and was ushered to our table. The manager then informed us that a waiter will be with us shortly and after about 10 minutes we looked around to get a waiter's attention to order drinks but no one was in the section that we were seated at. We waited a while longer but them got up and left. It's so funny that when we passed the waiters they all thanked us and wished us a good night further. It's funny cause that means no one acknowledged us coming in or that we're leaving so soon, it's like we were invisible. My husband informed the manager that we're leaving and he had a lousy excuse. We also sent them an email and the manager rep**** very unprofessional and poor grammar. My husband just wanted to do something nice for us and he was so proud that he made a reservation to impress me and it failed.

We hosted an intimate dinner for our daughter's 21st birthday at Blowfish restaurant in Blouberg on a mid-week evening. We received great service from the first email sent to the night of the dinner. The food was average as some meals were better than others but the ambiance was fantastic and the staff were amazing. I do think booking it during the week helped because the restaurant wasn't busy. It was a relaxing and memorable evening.

Food is of a very low standard. Cleanliness and freshness of food also poor. Stayed at the hotel and did not have a car so we had to eat there unless we wanted to Uber. I could not finish any of the meals, it was that bad. Found hair twice in my food. Breakfast also poor. Fruit salad was just topped up since it got more fizzy each day. Lipstick on cup. When they replenish the meats and cheeses they use their uncovered hands after carrying the trays. Disgusting, really. The only thing that was acceptable was the sushi and the views

I deliberately waited 24 hours before posting this review, allowing time to cool off. As a business owner myself, I understand the impact a bad review can have. However, after the appalling experience my wife and I had at Blowfish last night (Friday, 21 February 2025), I feel compelled to warn others. My wife has a severe allergy to chili, and since she had forgotten her emergency medication at home, we made it explicitly clear to our waitress. We even insisted that she write it down and confirm with the chef. Yet, to our shock, my wife's starter contained chili. Realizing the potential danger, I immediately called the waitress over, explaining that we might need to rush home or even to Blaauwberg Netcare. She reassured us that we wouldn’t need to pay since my wife had not even taken a bite—only a single sip of her Mojito. However, when the manager arrived, he presented us with the full bill, including the mains we hadn’t even received! After some discussion, he reluctantly reduced it to my starter, my alcohol-free beer, and two bottles of water—still with zero apology and an attitude that suggested we were the ones inconveniencing him. The lack of professionalism was staggering. The waitress’s inappropriate comments—questioning why I drink alcohol-free beer and pointing out that another guest had a similar shirt to mine—were bizarre. When I inquired about house specials, she simply stated that "everything is full price," completely misunderstanding my question. The entire experience was nothing short of awful—untrained staff, poor management, and a general lack of care for customer well-being. Most concerning is that, 24 hours later, there has been no follow-up call to check if my wife is okay, despite the restaurant having my contact details from the booking. No need to call now—I don’t want anything from you. One thing is for sure: we will never be back.

Made the unfortunate choice to take myself, my wife and two international swiss guests which might jyst be my worst restaurant experience and that says something as I am 66 years old. A nightmare t forget. Firstly no parking to speaok of. Secondly the on line booking failed, however we were unfortunately able to get a table. We ordered starters. Honestly looked nothing like the dishes on google and and were received by 3 people as mediocre. Mine wasnt that bad, could have been presented better but overall ok. Ordered ****tails. Honestly this restaurant needs to learn how to present ****tails. Ordered wine. The Swiss guest knows his wine and has travelled the world several times over. Ordered a Shiraz. We had a bottle opened of Chevin Blanc plonked on the table and waiter left. Took us 10 minutes to be able to point out this massive error. Wel the main meal arrived which was 2 seafood platters for two. Possibly the worst meal ever experienced. Cutlery missing, no sauces, heaps of rice and overcooked oily chips, we might have been forgiven for being in a soup kitchen. It took us another 15 minutes to get cutlery and the 3 sauces, chilly, garlic and lemon butter. This only because my wife got up and went searching for assistance otherwise the food would hv been cold and congealed. Well it was a mistake to eat some of the meal. The fish was so overcooked and dried out most of us left it. The mussels was a repetition of the mussel starter, crumbed calamari were basically salt sticks and the prawns although not great but eatable were super small. The sauces were so bad that not one of the 4 guests ventured adding to the meal as not only did they looked like puke and on sampling them they were just so awful. We left the mountains of rice and oily overcooked chips. We then had dessert. The rocky road was basically what once was ice cream just dark nutty soup, my cheesecake was ok but forgetable and the sorbet trio well our guests decided to give it a miss. We settled for irish coffee which was fine. What an embaras*****t. Our prize was that my wife had severe stomach cramps the next morning and I 4 days later still feel unwell. Even If you paid me and gave me free meals in that restaurant, you would not see me there again.
