I ride what I regard to be the best all-round motorcycle in the world, but I have received the worst service in the world with regards to the following issue.
My wife and I took to the roads in South Africa in December 2023. We were doing a coastal trip down the east coast heading south and to the west coast. We enjoyed the adventure very much experiencing all weather conditions.
During a massive storm that we encountered, my key must have picked up moisture and thus my bike could not start.
BMW MOTORRAD Cape Town collected my bike on 3rd of January 2024 and could not help me. I had to send my bike by truck to the dealership that I bought the bike from, in Johannesburg 1300klm trip. My wife and I had to then fly back to Johannesburg at a cost incurred due to BMW technical incompetence.
My bike arrived at BMW MOTORRAD Fourways on the 11th of January 2024 and I went to complete documentation for a new key to be ordered. My case was being dealt with by a man named Leroy.
I have been doing weekly follow-ups with Leroy and last week I was told that I should have my bike back this week.
Upon following up with regards to progress I was told that Leroy is on leave. A gentleman named Daniel followed up on the bike and just informed me that nothing has been done with regards to sorting out my bike.
I was very politely informed that I will be waiting atleast another 4 weeks.
This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable 🤬🤬🤬🤬
