At R240 per person for a pretty uninspiring picnic hamper, this is not an inexpensive lunch option.
This could have been forgiven if the service had not been so poor. We consistently had to fetch our own bottles of wine from the bar, despite the fact that three staff members were chatting at the bar area. When I paid for wine, the waiter asked if I wanted to add a tip! When I and others told him that that was unacceptable behavior from a waiter, he said that he did not know that and that he only been working at the picnic venue for two weeks!
In discussion, he also said that staff who had been allocated to a particular group were loathe to assist another table as the tips would then have to be split
