Just wanted to say thanks for a job well done on our driveway paving! 😊 The team was on time, and the attention to detail was top-notch. Really impressed with the service and appreciate how you guys care for your customers. Keep up the good work!

Worst paving company I have ever worked with. Do NOT use them for any large project. Excellent salesman but that is where it ends. After starting a week late, even before delivering any materials, they already insisted on the first progress payment which I foolishly did. What I expected to take 2 months turned into 6 months of false promises, very bad workmanship and double charging for items already included in the original quote. If you don't watch them like a hawk they will use the wrong material, (sand with a few rocks instead of real G5) omit using cement on the stabilisation of the base, (because the cement wasn't delivered in time they simply omit it) don't mix the sand and cement before grouting, decide they don't have to use water to wash in the grouting even though the salesman promised proper wet grouting. They don't compact properly as explicitly promised by the salesman.

Our driveway was repaved in November last year. While on the surface it seemed to go well, the first hint of worry came when we realised that the workers were contractors. They were dropped in the morning and their supervisor never stayed on site despite my husband asking to speak to him. As they were leaving on the last day the gate jumped out of its rails because they had not left sufficient space to accommodate it. They were immediately called back and fixed it. A day later my husband tried to open the garage but couldn't because the paving was too high. It was reported and they pitched at 6h30 the next morning without warning. This shows a serious lack of manners. They also didn't have a plan for where the paving should end in the one corner, and even though they asked, they ended up doing it wrong, moving one of my plants and killing it in the process. There were a lot of bags of sand left over when it was finished, that I can only assume we paid for, and when my husband asked what they were going to do with them, they said they were going to dump them together with the old bricks! But what remains the most disappointing to me in this whole experience is that the paving bricks are sub-standard as far as I am concerned. They are full of holes and broken corners, certainly nothing like the ones we had before. When I reported all this to the sales person who quoted us I was assured that Boss Paving only uses 1st grade pavers from the manufacturer and that he informed the operations manager about my concerns. I followed up a few weeks later to be told that my message would be forwarded to the office again. Needless to say that we never heard from them again. It is the first winter and the bricks are turning green and growing moss in places with all the inviting holes in them. They also seem to be holding onto moisture as they appear wet all the time except underneath our cars. I want to stress again that our previous paving never did that and I certainly expected the same quality. We only replaced the paving because we expanded the area and wanted everything to match. What a disappointment.

Boss Paving recently redid my driveway, and I couldn’t be happier with the result! They were quick, efficient, and extremely professional from start to finish. Brad, who assisted me with the quote, was very knowledgeable and made the whole process seamless. The team worked diligently, and the quality of their workmanship is outstanding. I had a great experience overall and would definitely recommend them 10 times over for any paving needs in the future!

BOSS PAVING JOHANNESBURG On 31st of January 2025, Brad visited the premises. I received the quotation on 3 February 2025. I paid the full amount. Received an email from Desiree (Informing me that the work will be done on 14th or 21st of February). NO further communication from BOSS paving. I phoned, and Desiree apologized for lack of communication and for not informing me of the date. TODAY is the 20th and I ONCE again had to phone. I was informed that I should have known that they will not be able to do the work (raining). My question: Is it incompetence/no consideration/unprofessional? Surely, you inform clients about delays/rescheduling?

Maybe expectations were just way higher being a big company name and a reputation, but probably the worst experience we have ever had, not just paving but on a professional level as a whole. We are just outright shocked with our experience. We've been renovating for 3 years...the driveway paving was the last of all our projects and we chose Boss Paving CT thinking smooth efficient, managed, quality right...Well we got that wrong. I'm told our experience is not the norm, but geez God help those who fall into whatever category we fall into. So a heads up to those looking at Boss for paving. A few things to note: you basically pay 90% upfront...two payments 60% then the 30% nothing to show for it. We received pavers at 6:30am on a Monday morning after we told them we had no place to store ahead of time and did not want to be managing the delivery of them ourselves. Literally, me in pjs on the pavement at 6:30am trying to figure out where these pavers needed to go. The team arrived whenever they felt like it, just before 10am if you were lucky. First day finished at 3:30pm only to sit on the pavement till 6pm for transport. The 2 days after that they were working till 7pm and 8pm because they needed to finish the job in 3 days. I mean those few hours on Monday would have helped a lot with that deadline. Grouting was done in the dark, it was so full of gaps we have leaves gathering between pavers. Did I mention Boss use contractors !? I mean I really did not see that coming. There was no manager / project manager to oversee the work or check-up on anything. There was no handover by our sales guy, We had to tell the contractors the job details, walk them through it all to try align expectations etc. Rubble was left in the road every day after we told them it had to go daily for security concerns (our house being on a blind corner and dark with no street lights at night). We bought our own beacons and reflector tape when we realised they had no intention of doing anything about it. We had to do the quality review since there was none on their part. And on the final day after warning them for 2 days that the drainage hadn't been done right (the water was flowing back into the property and not out to the street), Hubby had to show them how to use a level to get the drainage right and even had to lend his own tools because they didnt have what they needed to do the job. Hubby sat outside with them helping them till 8pm because no-one from Boss was coming to help with the drainage problem. The non-acknowledgement of our concerns and complaints was unbelievable, no-one was interested, no-one cared. Our sales guy (the only contact for the job) read messages and just never responded. He came thru on day 2 after I asked if he was coming at all. We spent R60k on this job (its a lot of money for us, money we worked really hard for & sacrificed for to be able to afford it). It really feels like a big slap in the face, like we were the most unimportant job they had. We honestly regret having chosen Boss in the end. Definitely wont make the same mistake again and will go elsewhere

We chose Boss Paving due to their strong reputation and proven track record. Unfortunately, in our experience, they have not fully lived up to the "Boss" name due to some shortcomings in their process. While we may have high expectations, it is important that agreements made during the quotation process are upheld. We identified two main issues: first, the drainage was not executed as requested, resulting in pools of water accumulating on the paving, which do not drain away. This could potentially harm Boss Paving's reputation, as some guests have already commented on this issue. Secondly, we specifically agreed that certain pavers around the trees and other areas should be installed at an angle to prevent water from flowing into those areas. While this was done to some extent, it was not completed fully, leading to water flowing into the areas we aimed to protect. The key takeaway is that addressing these minor details correctly can prevent significant frustration, yet this seems to be a time-consuming process.
