In December 2025 I bought couches from Bradlows Maponya Mall, they cost R 7999. When I check the statement the agreement is 36 month. Jenifer was assisting me and she never mentioned the payment plan to me, she only told me that the price is higher because she included the insurance of which I am aware of that. The total cost including insurance and other stuff is +/- R12 000.
In January I started receiving the threatening emails that my account was overdue. I went to Jenifer to complain about this and she said she will sort the matter out. An I requested that she gives me my contract instead she gave me the insurance documents.
On the 13th of March I received the statement and to my surprise that is when I noticed the 36 month payment plan. I went to Jenifer on the 16th March and explained to her that I will never agree to pay the couches of R7999 over 36 months. I rather cancel the contract and they should collect their couches, or they rather give me the settlement letter. When we called their Head Office for the settlement letter I was told that I have been handed over to the Lawyers ADRS, I gave the phone to Jenifer to sort the matter out because I am not behind with my instalment. Jenifer said she will call them and do a conference call with me to sort the matter out and to receive the settlement letter, till today Janifer did not bother to contact me. Today the 23rd March I went to the shop to address the matter to the Manager, they took me from one table to another just to make a call. I stomp out and left. I just called their head office now to request the settlement letter and I was told that my account is in errors and I should talk to accounts department before they can give me the settlement letter. The phone just rings and cuts.
Is this how Bradlows trick their customer to pay the ridiculous amount of purchase? Can Bradlows solve this matter with ADRS and send me the settlement letter.
