I’m writing this review on behalf of my sister, who has been left devastated by her experience with Bride & Co. She bought her dream wedding dress on **17 May 2025** for **R17 000**. As requested, she returned it six weeks before her wedding for alterations. When she went back for her fitting, she discovered the alterations were done incorrectly — the dress no longer fit, and while trying to fix it, the seamstress **punched a hole in the dress**.
My sister was in tears and had a panic attack two weeks before her wedding. Instead of taking accountability for the damage, they then took advantage of her and **sold a second dress** for **R7 000**, saying they couldn’t guarantee when the original would be ready. No refund or proper solution was offered for the R17 000 dress that Bride & Co had damaged.
This is completely unacceptable and a clear **contravention of the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA)**, which protects consumers’ right to proper workmanship and redress when services cause damage. Bride & Co failed to uphold these rights and profited from their mistake by selling a second dress under pressure.
No bride should be treated this way, especially so close to her wedding. Bride & Co needs to take responsibility and make this right — not just for my sister, but for every future bride who trusts them with such an important purchase.
