seriously believe that this english test is a money making racket - at R 4800 every time you write it and when you need to achieve certain marks per section (minimum requirement for a teacher) in one exam and have to rewrite every time you don’t achieve this for one section even if in the previous test you have gotten the requirement for that section does make you wonder especially because they won’t give you the paper to review your mistakes - if this is not a red flag i don’t know what is. also when asking for a remark they don’t even mark the correct test makes absolutely no sense at all that this is how they work. My daughter has written this test 5 times graduated cum laude at university she did a bachelor of Phys Ed and cannot pass this test with marks she needs. Makes no sense at all. Why is it made so difficult and impossible to achieve.

In hindsight, I should have checked HalloPeter first before registering with IELTS. The written test doesn't allow you to finish early when you are done, you have to wait for the timer to run out. I raised my hands a few times in order to ask if they can end the test and the proctor did not answer me. Before the timer ran out, the internet connection dropped and I could not get back in on time. I emailed them immediately afterward to ask if they can mark where I got, it because I did finish the test. I was just waiting for the timer to finish. They refuse to do it.

Good day, I have sent numerous e-mails to ssa.enquiries@britishcouncil.org and have not received any response. My fiancé arrived for the test on time last week Wednesday & had official original identification. He was denied access and were told our money would be forfeited for the IELTS General Test. With Covid-19, how the tests were rebooked, bad communication and no responses to e- mails or phone calls you cannot expect us to forfeit this money, The test itself is expensive and we cannot 'communicate' with you on the phone, only via e-mail and e-mails go unanswered! Please urgently contact me with a new test date.

IELTS General English exam is in need of further investigation! I also wrote the General English exam in 2018 numerous times. The first time I wrote, I did not practice as much and scored 8's for all except my writing test(Writing marked at 7). I then decided to use IELTS tutor to assist me in obtaining my 8 for writing as I was looking to migrate to Australia at the time. They required 8 all round for all 4 sections. After spending much time and money with an excellent tutor, I was told am ready to write and achieve my 8's. She scored me consistently at 8-8.5 for my Writing tests using the same format as IELTS test. Once again, I scored above 8 for all three sections(Reading 9), and writing was marked at 6. I ended up trying again two months later with same results and my writing marked at 6.5. I feel it is a money making scheme and requires urgent investigation as to why so many people, i spoke to, have the same problems as I had, specifically with the Writing section.....you do not get higher than 6.5!
