Terrible service from Clive Chowles at Brooks running SA. Adrenaline shoes that were bought on black Friday don't fit true to size so asked for an exchange. Suddenly none of the shoes available on Black Friday were black Friday specials according to him. Also they want me to pay delivery and collection fees plus an additional 10%. Pathetic service. Will never buy again from this online store.

Good day I'm extremely disappointed in the brooks adrenaline 24 that i actually had to order to get at sportsman Wearhouse in Klerksdorp north west! I struggle with plantar fasciitis in both my feet and i was told that brooks adrenaline 24 is the best when it comes to plantar fasciitis support! So i just had to have it. I'm a daily runner, running 8 kilometres twice a week, one 5 kilometres per week followed by one 10 kilometres per week. I bought these shoes from sportsmans Wearhouse on the 6th of May 2025, on the morning of the 11th of August 2025, 3 months and 5 days later i saw that the shoes were tearing along the sides of the shoe. Now i have to wait 2 to 3 weeks to find out if i will be able to get a refund!Or if my shoes can be replaced, but i do not want them replaced because i can tell you because of the material it will tear again. The shoe did not last long! Am i not supposed to go running with them, i mean it's a running shoe is it not? It says run and walk on the box!

Missed opportunity for a lifetime customer, and only resulted in a disappointed client who will now look to other running shoe brands. I need some new trail running shoes and wanted to check out Brooks. On their website it says there are stores near me, so I went to no less than 4, and was unable to find any. So, I decided to order shoes from Brooks Running SA store online, and the shoes were too small. I enquired about the exchange policy, and I was told that I need to courier it back to Cape Town from my home in Johannesburg at my own cost, and they would charge me a 10% admin fee on the refund. I was not offered an alternative solution by customer care. So, in effect, it cost me nearly R600 to try on a pair of shoes, and I am still without a new pair of running shoes. Even if I had said “please send me a 9.5 and/ or a 10 to try”, I still would have had to pay for the shoes that didn’t fit to be sent back down to CT. Either way it was going to cost me more money, so I cut my losses and said I would send them and to please give me a refund. The lost opportunity: someone at Customer Care could have called around to JHB based stores and found a size 9.5 and a 10 for me to try. They could have suggested an exchange there at a retail outlet. Or they could have offered to send a 9.5 and a 10 up with a courier for me to try on and told me I could send the other shoes back with the courier that didn’t fit. Something, anything! But all I got was an unhelpful person at customer care that wasn’t really interested in resolving my issue and keeping me as a customer, and this whole experience cost me money…. Truly disappointed in my entire experience. Do not recommend.

I bought a pair of Brooks Ghost from Sportsmans Waterhouse. The front part of left shoe collapsed after just over a week of gentle running (causing blister on 2nd toe). I returned the shoes to sportsman’s Warehouse on 16 April. They were very helpful and kept in constant contact as they liased with Brooks agent. They then explained I had to fetch shoes and courier them at my cost to Brooks running SA Personally. I do that and they were couried priorety overnight in order to try resolve issue as quick as possible. They arrived on 24 April. I marked how urgent it was as it’s my only pair of running shows (and at Roughly R3500 a pair I can’t afford to buy another pair while I wait for assessment). Since then both me and Sportsmans ware house have been trying to contact manager and get an answer. Clive (the manager as her website told sportmans warehouse he no longer works there), but other agent says he needs Clive to assess the shoe. I habe not been able to get a Solid answer since the 24th April and we are now 6 May and I’m unable to run! # Brooks running SA this is appalling service. Please be in contact with urgency. Here is courier confirmation… Shipment SKFK6L has been delivered successfully. Status: PIN entered successfully The proof of delivery pin was resent to the following number(s): (0664450338)

I purchased a pair of Brooks Cascadia18 Trail running shoes at Sportsman's Warehouse - prior to walking the Camino del Norte, I specifically purchased size 8 shoe ( I usually wear size 6.5 or ), to ensure that I had plenty of toe space both in length and width. They fit very well and I loved them - however, there is a weakness on the sides of the shoe, where the design is faulty. The plastic designer wrap does not cover the whole side. In less than 2 weeks (200km including a few training hikes prior) and the sides started tearing. I had no choice but to continue walking in them for the rest of the Camino. I took photos of the shoes on day 13 and noticed that other Pilgrims did not have the same issues I had with their make of shoes. The Brooksrunning-SA website states that there is a 2 year warranty on shoes, this put my mind at ease. However, when I reported the issue to the Brooks manager, Clive Chowles, he said that they offer 6 month warranty on shoes with design fault. I advised him that I had read on the website that the warranty was for 2 years. In my opinion, this is a design fault, a weakness where there is no plastic/silicon wrap... both my husband's pairs of Brooks have torn in the same place. My shoes had not been washed(not possible while hiking the Camino), this, I understand can cause weaknesses, especially if washed with strong detergents. Mr Chowles offered me a 25% discount on the next pair purchased, but I have not accepted this offer, as he is not accepting that there is a design fault. I wish for the staff at Sportsmans Warehouse and other outlets to make sure that clients looking to purchase Brooks shoes should be aware of this weakness in the design. R3000 is an investment and surely trail running shoes should last longer than 2 - 3 weeks before getting tears. I do not wish to buy Brooks again- with or without a 25% discount, as I need to invest in shoes and a company that will look after me and hear me. Clive advised that trail running shoes have a life cycle of between 600 and 800km.. I wish this had been the case but unfortunately NOT. Sportsman's Warehouse Ballito staff were very helpful and supportive in this regard, however, they are still marketing and selling these trail running shoes.

WannaDo Events - Highly Unprofessional I participated in the Bryanston Campus run Dec 1st. Sponsors: Brooks and 32GI Organizers: WannaDo Events The event was poorly organized: Insufficient water points. Poorly marked route. (Runners ran longer than they should have. At the end of the event you were casually given your medal and a HOT Rooibos iced-tea on a scorching hot day. (NO WATER WAS MADE AVAILABLE) The event advertised massages and buckets of ice post the run for relief. (ABSOLUTELY nothing!!) Shocking though when I posted a message on Facebook ... WannaDo Events blocked me.😱 Take accountability for the lack of unprofessionalism on the day. I am a runner and since my awful experience past Sunday I have shared how badly the event was hosted and your lack on courtesy. I wait in anticipation for a response.

Extremely poor Customer Service. I bought a value pack of Brooks Hard Seltzer at SuperSpar Vineyard over Easter. Upon opening the case a few week-ends ago, 3 out of the 12 cans were completely empty although perfectly sealed. Neither Brooks nor SuperSpar Vineyard reacted to any of the contacts I made on their respective websites. So much for a new product trying to establish itself on the South African market place.
