I ordered on 27/01/2026, got confirmation that the item is being delivered on 28/01/2026. On 29/01/2026 I received a call informing me that the item is suddenly out of stock, the only option is a refund. I requested the refund to be done immediately as I paid immediately. on 31/01/2026 I sent an email requesting confirmation of my request as well as the call recording where the agent confirmed my request. 7 days later is the first time I received any communication back. Only now the refund is set in action and I'm being informed that it will take another 7 days. Clearly you are taking your clients for a ride and you do not give a single damn about us. UTTERLY DISGUSTING how you treat paying customers!

I placed an order online and couriers decided to mark my package as delivered. Called Build a bear through out the day and non of the customer service agents cared to investigate or call me back. the manager is never available. Absolutely no damn urgency from their side. Pathetic service and will never be ordering online from them.

I'm looking for a specific character. When I phone the branches in the West Rand they are very rude and can not help. So useless. I phoned another branch... Not in Gauteng.... Told me the character is only available in Cape Town. Sure... So I phoned Cape Town and they guy told me the character is available online.... I said no... I tried before phoning. He said it IS available and will phone me right back. One week later and I still have not received one call from the Cape Town or the Cresta branch. I'm really frustrated... But I see the reviews and it makes sense.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service received at the Build-A-Bear Workshop located in Ushaka, Durban, on April 3rd, 2025. I took my almost two-year-old daughter for her first Build-A-Bear experience, with the intention of creating a special and memorable occasion. Upon entering the store, I explicitly requested from the staff member serving us that we receive the 'full experience,' including the storytelling, documentation, and the presentation box, as is standard with the Build-A-Bear process. The staff member assured me that this would be provided. However, the service we received was far from the promised experience. After my daughter selected her bear and we completed the recording, the staff member proceeded to stuff the bear and immediately moved to the till, bypassing all the promised elements of the Build-A-Bear experience. When I inquired about the missing story, box, and documentation, I was informed that 'they don't do that here' and that I would have to go to another location. This response was unacceptable and caused significant disappointment, especially for my daughter, whose first Build-A-Bear experience was ruined. The customer service response I received via email, while acknowledging the error, did not adequately address the failure to deliver the promised service. I requested that someone in the Durban area provide the full experience before we left the area, but this also did not happen. I am very upset about the lack of accountability and the poor customer care received.

A very bad unprofessional experience at Build A Bear Tygervalley today. Canal Walk branch asked them to keep me a Poppy from Trolls movie. Gave my name and contact details said I would collecting in 2 days time. Arrived there today, gave my name and details. Girl looked under counter a few times, said it was not there and the girl who supposedly put it away was not in today. Eventually I said ok..give me another one then from the bins....she took me to "puppies" I said but I am looking for Poppie?? She then went back to the cupboard and found it with all my details...really!! Once Poppie was stuffed...dressed and paid for...she gave it to me just like that...here u go! I asked where is the box its supppsed to come in? This was a gift for my granddaughter...I cant give it like that. Oh no boxes or bags.. for any of those bears! Ok..and where is the certificate?? Oh no..we dont have any more. I insisted that they then print it on plain paper...the manager..I think...went to print it on a certificate she found at the back....which had statement details on the back....not bad enough....the details are incorrect...as she never cleared the previous details!! Now really...very unprofessional...inefficient .....the worst service I have received in a long time. I have bought numerous bears for my granddaughters and always proud to walk out of build a bear with it boxes with certificate...but not this time. Wont go back there...very dissapointing😡

Had my daughters 8th birthday party at build a bear tygervally today. Very bad experience, walked in they didn't even know they were hosting a party, the table I had to set up on was broken, the party host was so soft and shy, they didn't inform me that they were out of boxes so the kids had to leave the party with bears in their hands and no boxes. This party was booked in December 2024 so surely they should have received a notification for January 11th 2025. The host didn't even say the party was done or thank you kids for coming I had to assume we are done. We have attended parties at Cape Gate build a bear and the experience was beyond amazing. I think Tygervally can learn a thing or 2 from them

We took our daughter to build a bear for the 1st time on the 28 Dec 2024 Tygervalley. They were out of stock of the bunny that my daughter wanted. We did not have a good experience, the service was terrible we were treated so nevermind the sales person just helped us to get the job done. It wasn't a joyous celebration as they advertise on TV bringing your bear to life.

I took my daughter for her first experience to Build a Bear Tygervalley. Iviwe who assisted us was AMAZING, but only to find out there was no stock of the bear she wanted, then no stock of the boxes, The printer in the front of the shop was not working. Her sound box broke within 2 minutes of leaving your store. First experience which cost R1234 was NOT enjoyable. Come on, its Christmas - STOCK YOUR STORE
