Please don't get me wrong Bush Lapa Off Road Caravans are excellent products. The problem lies with certain approved dealers, in this case Eastern Cape Caravans in Port Elizabeth.
The initial dealing when purchasing the caravan did not go smoothly to say the least. Then we came to the dreaded first service. The booking was made more than a month in advance to make sure they can plan for it. I went back two weeks later to confirm that the planned service date was still ok for Tuesday 16/04/2024.
We delivered the caravan on Monday evening, the 15th so that they had ample time. Take note, this caravan only has two wheels, no engine and no transmission. Why then does it take up to Saturday morning to complete the service? Well maybe due to the fact that it only moved to the work area on Thursday. How does touch-up paint get onto the window canvas? Why don't they clean up the electrical wire insulation cuttings from the shelves where they worked. Why do they leave the basin filled with water when we towed it away?
Negligence? Never mind, don't care? No, they were busy on another big sale! They don't care about existing customers. I was warned about their shoddy workmanship and I thought that must support the local dealer. Well never again!! This is rather disappointing when you invest more than R500K in a product and then you get this type of service. I am sure this will never happen at Toyota, they have pride in their products.
