I had a very basic website hosting package with Buzybuy for a number of years, which basically required nothing from them except the yearly billing, so no complaints there. In August 2023 they billed me again for 12 months ahead, without telling me that they will be going over to new servers only 2 months later, which would increase the amount I pay per year by just under 1000%! They sent me forms to sign to agree to the new fees 1 month before it would go into effect from November 2023. I told Dale that I have a very basic website and won't pay that, and eventually decided to move over to another cost-effective service provider, and asked for a refund for the 10 months left I had paid up front on the previous servers and fees. No response to numerous emails. When I called into their service center they just said they will have to talk to Dale and get back to me, which never happened. Until I threatened them going to HelloPeter on email, then Dale responded within hours. I moved over to the new hosting company, but still haven't received the refund, and emails enquiring about this gets ignored. I assume they either intend NOT to refund me as they said they would, or Dale is too busy to give proper customer service. Either way it might be good to avoid Buzybuy. I will making a case against them at the Consumer Ombud of South Africa next.
