After placing an order through Mr Delivery from Magnifico bistro Canal Walk Milnerton. Our order consisted of a Beef Lasagna and Alfredo Pasta Totaling to R203-00. I proceeded to dish up the meal for my fiance and I divided the two bowls onto each plate. When attempting to eat the lasagna I bit into something hard which hurt once I took it out my mouth after having to spit the entire mouthful out I discovered I had bit into a piece of glass which had cut my pallet open. I immediately contacted the store and explained the frustration and injury I sustained irrespective of how minor the injury was I am unsure of what I had consumed should there have been smaller particles of glass in the one or two mouthfuls I had previously. I immediately contacted the store and was told they will collect the food and issue a refund. Never mind the inconvenience and frustration from our side as we had looked forward to the meal. In explaining to the person on the other line I was told I am not giving him chance to speak after all I was trying to do was express my concern at a reasonable tone with my fiance present. I've had to be inconvenienced in ordering from McDonald's and having to wait another hour for food on a week night after a long day at work.
The recipient of the phone call at the bistro went and checked with the kitchen but can't confirm any broken dishes. When food was dropped off my fiance and I had to white plates layed out with two forks and a board ready to dish up(with no clear glass of any kind in sight)
I do understand that accidents can happen but do believe that quality control or precautions or cautions as such isnt taken as seriously as it should be.
Swallowing of glass can cause major issues and this is what I wish to express to the store other than not having the meal I expected and being hugely inconvenienced.
I do await a response from the store owner or superior as I don't feel a refund is sufficient for the damage and disappointment caused.
I have taken pictures of food and glass piece as well as my pallet that was cut open and all I can think of is what if any of that was swallowed. Luckily my fiance hadnt even started on his plate yet.
Deeply concerned on so many levels.
