If I could rate less than one star I would. Hopefully I can save potential customers the frustration that I have had over the last week with this company still without resolution. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Stay well away from them unless you want heartache and to waste your money.
Capital Air KZN was paid upfront on the 11th Jan 2023 (as per their demand, they wont do any work unless they are paid up front!) to service 4 air conditioner units. The main reason for this is that one of the units installed by them a few years back has had an intermittent F3 fault for a long time and now has the fault permanently and does not start up/cool. From what I have read on these aircons this fault is generally because of bad outside sensor connection or bad sensors. The "Technician" that came was clueless and kept consulting his cellphone for help. First of all told me the condenser was faulty. I told him that I doubted this. He then told me the controller PCB was faulty and he thought a new one would cost R3500 rand. This was all without testing the resistance of the sensors or checking their wiring. I watched him and all he did was open the little side cover plate which houses the connections between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit. He claimed to have serviced the unit but left the unit without hosing the evaporator fins to clean them. I have photos of the corrosion between fins that should have been washed off. In addition another aircon that was "serviced" by these clowns no longer works. It was working perfectly before they came and has been doing so for years. This aircon was not one that was installed by capital air.
I was told by the so called technician that the service manager would call me the next day regarding the aircon fault. Nobody phoned. We have spent days on the phone and it is impossible to speak to anyone of any authority in this company. The person(s) answering the phone are rude and unhelpful and promise return calls by the service manager which never transpire. On Wednesday evening (18th Jan) I got a phone call from someone that I assumed to be the service manager who was apologetic and said that that was not the way they do business. He promised to send more competent technicians the next day (Thursday). I was not home but they arrived on thursday and wrote a message left with the maid that they brought the wrong spares and were unable to diagnose the problem. The message said to contact "Mahmoud". We have subsequently been unable to raise him or anyone else. These people have taken our money and not provided the service that they were paid to do. My wife has made MANY phone calls to capital air but is unable to get any assistance. She has only been able to talk to the person answering the phone who on his own admission has no technical knowledge. The message that was left was written in poor English too.
In the mean time we are without 2 aircons in this extreme heat and nobody at Capital Air cares a jot. Stay away from these people. Prices are not everything. These peoples after sales service in not poor, it is non existent.
