Incredible service at a fraction of the price quoted by a VW dealer in the area. I have been servicing our 3 family cars for years and it’s the first time my service has cost less than the expected quotations. When you take your car for a service you are waiting for the dreaded call that 10 other things need to be replaced . I got a phone call telling me that certain things that were quoted for do not have to be replaced, that has never happened to me before . It is refreshing to know that there is still a business that is honest and reliable. I will definitely be servicing the family cars here in the future .

I brought my vehicle to Car Service City’s Table View branch (Unit 4, Columbus Park, Cape Town) for a major service in January 2025, costing R4,000. I must've spent over R20,000 with them over the years, expecting quality as an RMI-approved workshop. Instead, my perfectly functioning car came back stuttering and shuddering, likely due to a damaged throttle body—a common issue from unskilled mechanics. They attempted to fix it three times, including cleaning/adjusting the throttle body, but the issue persists, still within their 6-month/10,000 km warranty (under 700 km driven since). When I requested they replace the throttle body or address related parts, they dismissed me, claiming it wasn’t part of the service, despite their vague invoice and post-service work on the component. Their head office responses were laughable—I was sent a Google screenshot of a VW car’s service checklist (my car is a Fiat) to “explain” their work, ignoring my vehicle’s specifics. When I pointed out this incompetence and their breach of warranty, they closed the complaint, telling me to escalate to RMI. RMI was no help—they sent me to Goch & Cooper Auto Services, an hour away, for an assessment that ignored the warranty issue and pushed unnecessary services. When I posted a factual review about Goch & Cooper on HelloPeter, they disputed it, and HelloPeter rejected my RMI emails as proof, demanding an invoice for a non-paid assessment. This pattern—Car Service City’s shoddy work, RMI’s useless mediation, and HelloPeter’s biased dispute process—shows a system that dodges accountability and pressures consumers to stay silent. Car Service City’s refusal to honor their warranty, coupled with their unprofessional responses, is unacceptable. Consumers deserve better—clear invoices, competent repairs, and a warranty that means something. I warn others to approach with caution.

Stay away! Worst service, worst workmanship, worst customer service, worst management - please see other similar reviews. Took car for major service, came back with oil leak on part they serviced, refused to even just look for fault (even though I pointed out exactly where it is as checked myself first) without paying in extra, in complete denial! Oil also black like old oil in diesel vehicle looks, so now not even convinced they changed oil as part of major service. Treated with utmost un-professionalism, and that by the manager / owner herself. Disgusted.

Stay away from these guys they play a guessing game when fault finding and never resolve any issues just lead you on in to purchasing more parts and paying them for labor and then tell you to take your vehicle to a specialist. Wont even recommend them for a car wash.

We had booked the vehicle in for a normal service on Monday the 1 October 2018,Whereby we were quoted for additional repairs, I had communicated back to Dean from the branch approval to do all repairs they had quoted for and expected the vehicle to be in a 100% mechanical condition based on the report for which I was informed telephonically by Dean of the following, * Wheel Bearing and sensor-triggering an abs and traction control light to stay on the cluster which was apparently repaired and paid for but never corrected lights are still illuminated response is we should take the vehicle to a third party to have checked up. * Power steering pump noisy -Approval granted repair apparently completed but more damage to the system was experienced as my driver was stranded at work after all BRAKE FLUID??? and power steering leaked out of the vehicle we had contacted the branch and taken the vehicle back to which they said it was a faulty part after an additional day an a half the part was supposedly replaced after damaging and additional switch related to the mechanics of the part but noise returned and intermit power steering failure is still experienced, my driver was then asked to take it to a third party as they could not find the fault after paying for all parts and labour associated with repairs and more importantly a week of work time lost by my team. * Tappet Cover Oil Leak-Approval granted-repaired supposedly completed. * When the vehicle was initially picked up after the service booking there was a loss of power experienced which was not identified or quoted on when vehicle was dropped when I raised the query with Dean he said it was faulty Coil pack despite me requesting confirmation on my initial mail that all faults will be resolved. I then granted approval for and additional amount and the vehicle was taken back a day later, after replacement the fault and loss of power remained which they then say we should take the vehicle to and 3rd party auto electrician. * I've also had previous repairs where CV joints where replaced but on the next service they would quote on CV joint loss of grease which they say is not their fault, irrespective of them doing the initial work on these components. * More recently I'm receiving complaints from my driver having to have to fill oil in the vehicle when fuelling after only a week of been serviced. I'm no mechanic but i have fair knowledge of how a vehicle works and based on my conversations with CSC Table view they seem to be clueless on faults they quote on
