Hello Peter. Please assist with this matter. I've been with car track for a year now and so far I'm only facing bad customer care/service to a point of regretting ever signing up with them. After the first three months of signing up with them and installing their tracking device, I experienced battery failure. Initially I thought my battery was old and just needed a battery change, so I bought a new battery. Three months later that new battery also died, I then thought there could be fault with my alternator, so again I bought another battery and got my alternator replaced. Three months later I again experienced battery failure, at this point I was starting to realize that the only thing that was foreign installation I've had done to my car was the car track device (I have no installations of any foreign devices that could lead to battery failures except for the car track device: ie, sound systems etc) and I only started experiencing battery failures shortly after installing the car track device. I got an electrician to look at or for any possible short circuits in my car, and he confirmed that there could be a device that is coursing battery drainage as he could not see or find any short circuits in my system. I recently bought a new battery (about 2 months ago, first week of March 2025) and it is dead now (first week of may 2025) it actually started dying about two weeks ago, every night since then I have to take the terminals off the battery every time I park otherwise the car won't start in the morning. In the past year that I've been with car track I've bought a total of 4 new batteries costing just about R8000. I have alerted car track several times of this matter and asked them to come service the device, but I every time I call them I get promises that are yet to be met. The last time I called them (Saturday 3rd of may) I was furious and had enough of their bad service, so 8 called in to cancel my services with them and have them come remove the dice from my car. I was told there was a R2650 cancellation fee and a 21 day waiting period, now based on how much I've spent on batteries during the past year, I was ok with paying their cancellation fee (knowing it would be the R2000 I spend) and I told the operator and explained my frustrations to her. She listened and eventually talked me out of cancelling my subscription and promised she would get a technician to come sort out my device (again, empty promises) because it's been a week later and I'm yet to receive a call from anyone from their side.
