On the 27th November, just after 3h15 PM, my Dad, Brother and Daughter visited Carl's Coffee for a cup of coffee / hot chocolate etc. The door was open, customers were enjoying their coffee, and then my Dad rang the bell for service. The staff refused to stop chatting, and serve them. They saw my family (we are not white) and decided to not even acknowledge our presence. I find this behavior to be appalling. If you want to have coffee with extra racism, choose Carl's. I left a review on their Facebook page for the Owner to respond to, and have not received a word. How is this allowed. I had to explain to my 10 year old what happened, and could not even begin to. Growing up in Centurion, going to an Afrikaans duel medium high school, I never experienced being blatantly ignored, while white customers had their orders. If anyone could get a response to this, and an apology it would be greatly appreciated. This is South Africa, not the pre-apartheid South Africa, the beautiful rainbow nation which Madiba and others fought for.
