A family member took their car in for what CarPro said was a clutch problem. Was charged R25000, months later the same issue started again, went to another mechanic only to find out that nothing was done. The owner is a rude ***boy mechanic. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!

I had always gone to VW dealerships to service my Polo but it just got too expensive. Somebody recommended taking my car to CarPro and I’m so glad they did. Antony and his team did a thorough investigative inspection of the car (at almost half the price you’d pay at a VW dealership) and found legitimate issues where parts needed to be replaced or fixed. I know they were legitimate because, when I asked to see the worn parts, he was only too happy to show me and explain, in detail, why they needed replacing. He was also honest in telling me how much longer some parts would last for so I could make informed decisions. This honesty extended to the invoice too; he removed an item from the initial quote as he’d found that it was in better condition than first anticipated. Antony was also very helpful in offering insights regarding the sale of my car. (I was servicing the car to make sure it was in good condition to sell.) Despite me being pedantic, he patiently took me on more than one post-service test drive for my peace-of-mind. To the entire team at CarPro in Blackheath, thank you for the quality workmanship and fantastic service. Five stars, for sure.

I called their workshop on Saturday 14th July 2018 and there was no response. I decided to call one of his mechanic and he told me that they are not opened on that Saturday. I wanted to arrange with the guys who we arranged to tow the car to take it to their workshop, but he told me they are closed and it will not be safe to live the car there over the weekend. We opted that they will tow it on Monday, then my husband friend towed the car to our premises. On the 16th I called the office and spoken to the receptionist and she arranged for the car to be towed on Tuesday. The whole thing started when I took the car for full service on Wednesday April the 4th and I got it back on Friday, on my way home the car had ABS sign and thought it was breaks. On that Friday night we drove to Eastern Cape and on Saturday morning my husband decided to check the oil and water from the car, the dipstick was dry and he bought the oil. On our way back the car had no power and was smoking. On the 10th of April I took it back and explained to Antony that the car had ABS sign after I took it last week Friday and had no oil on it. He disagreed and said there is no way that we could have reached EC with the car that had no oil on it. The car was taken to the engineers and it was discovered that the crankshaft was broken. The car was in their workshop since then until R 36 000 was paid and got it back on 07 July 2018. I experienced the vibration on a steering wheel when idling on 09 July and Antony told me to bring it back on Wednesday 11 July morning and picked it up after work, he told me that he checked it and everything was fine and took his word. The car had a problem again on 14 July where the car started to jerk and had no power. I am now suppose to pop up R13 000.00 from my pocket. How am I suppose to pay while the car was not properly fixed from the onset. I am not happy with their service and never been happy. As we speak I don’t have a car and that is the only mode of transport I have and it has been sitting there since July.

Never take your car to CarPro in Cresta (on Beyers Naude Drive).

The service quality is beyond poor and the manager is the rude and speaks to you as if you are an idiot.

I took my car there for a major service and since then the following has happened:

1. The one lock nut on my car's wheel was gone. I phoned the manager who said it was missing and the job card indicated it (which I do not believe as I am a pain when it comes to this and always check my wheels whenever it goes in for a change/service) but I left it there as it was a minor thing.

2. As part of the service you have an oil change out. After I got the car back I checked my oil guage to find that the oil level was just above minimum. Who services a car an only tops it up to above min. Rather be upfront if not part of the cost of the service and give me a price to fill it up. If I did not check it I would have taken a long journey with the car with almost no oil.

3. A week after the service my engine management light came on (in the car's history I have never had a single problem with the engine or any major component). I took it back to be told that it was the variable valve timing that was wrong and that they would reset it that should fix it. They did this and it did not work. The manager then said it could be the software which they can run in the morning and then let me know. I then left it there the evening asking the manager what it would cost to run this. He said just wait till the software was run and he will then call me first thing in the morning to let me know what it would be. After not hearing anything I called him at about 2.30 in the afternoon. He then said that they will run the software and call me at 3. At 3.30 I got a call saying they have set the timing etc and I can come collect the car and then said it would cost R1250. When arriving at the service centre we then entered into an argument on why he did the work without my permission of the cost. He replied that he could not give a price before fixing it and I needed to pay (which I refused). He then said that next time I must take my car to f#ing BMW and see what they charge me.

4. A week later the same problem on the engine came back showing that he did not fix what was wrong with the car.

I then spoke to my father and brother in law who also seriviced their cars there once with the same response. NEVER EVER GO THERE!!!!
